yeah and that explanation made sense right up until you said you had asked for full disclosure. It is a bit patronising to say the least and as you say makes you out as the forelock tugging patient.
Which you so clearly aren't. why can't they respect your wishes?
Still you are as ever on the case. brilliant XXXX

This last recurrence was blamed by the medical staff on the fact the tumour had been missed previously. I personally thought that was nonsense so I raised it with the chief of surgery (my surgeon) and said your staff feel that I will be less scared by surgical incompetence as opposed to aggressive disease. I think I've a virulent form of cancer and a competent surgeon...what are your thoughts.
<< SNIP>>
How about I take a marker pen up next Friday and write across the front of the file...STOP, THINK, DON'T LIE
I will write another formal letter...and ask for all my most recent records to be released. Who knows, all those hours at a photocopier may make someone think.
KC - Sometimes I wished I drank to calm this down.
Given that you've previously formally complained about this very issue, the fact that it's till happening is completely unforgivable. I should imagine your surgeon will be adding HIS complaint to yours now too though - for them to be accusing him of incompetence (whether directly or otherwise) is essentially defamation of character.
I quite like the idea of the marker pen - and genuinely might be worth you writing 'FULL DISCLOSURE - no shielding, no lies' and signing it. Might just act as a reminder prompt for all concerned. Definitely get your file released too - it's all ammunition, right!
Can you maybe request a meeting with the General Manager of your hospital to discuss the matter again and hand the letter over personally and ask that it is acknowledged as being fully understood also?Hi Buffy.
I genuinely get the shielding aspect and them walking a tightrope. But when I've just been made to perform like a trick pony for the registrar by detailing every stage of my disease while he took notes on a scrap of paper so he could check "my understanding" concluding with the necklace of tumours I now have AND then his boss says I'm "at risk" of recurrence, all I hear now is "you're a liar".
In terms of incompetence...boy doctor examined me and asked why I had scars on my right side when cancer was on the left. As I'd just explained to him bi-lateral therapeutic mammoplasty. Blank look although he'd written it down...means both sides son!! They're testing me and I'm meant to be the forelock tugging patient.
:mad::mad::mad:
I'd have been oh-so-tempted to look pityingly at him and say "oh dear, have you not learnt about that yet, how about we call your boss in to explain to you?" and then see what the reaction was. They SO should not be playing games with you or expecting hoops jumped through to test your understanding at this point - just damned well get on with the treatment you're paid for people and stop DAMNED WELL PLAYING GAMES !:mad:🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

The first time Mr SA was admitted to hospital he was discharged the next day with depression. I got him home and he had more seizures. Rang GP who said seizures were common with depression(!!!!) A day later he was back in hospital being diagnosed with a brain tumour. Thank God I persisted! Hi,
Well I've spoken to the hospital and now have an appointment to see surgeon on Friday before I see the oncologist. I've highlighted how concerned I am about this partial disclosure and the danger it poses. We're meeting to address how we fix this and he'll give me my full pathology results.
Also having CT workup tomorrow to plan radiology treatment. It will start on the 3rd Feb and run the entire month, 5 days a week for 4 weeks.
Phoned solicitors to get ball rolling on Power of Attorney change. Waiting for a call back.
Need to pay off credit card today and do VAT return.
Sleep is still all over the place...it was about 5am before I dropped off this morning.
Mad killer is on the loose again. This time it's bits of rabbit we've been getting. Kittens are not impressed when I confiscate their trophies but sicko is back dumping carcasses behind children's play park. Really bothers me but little we can do about it.
Went to see The Railway Man yesterday. Very hard to watch in places; what the men went through as Japanese POWs was unbelievable.
On a lighter note we did do some location spotting as bits were filmed literally down the road. Colin Firth was 400 yards from my house and didn't come to dinner, how rude is that. If he'd done his Mr Darcy into the Forth that would have shrunk his vitals.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. I saw that last week and really enjoyed it, a really hard watch in parts though. You should go and see Frozen if you fancy something light - it's the best Disney film I've seen in a while.0 -
mmmmmm KJ - just catching up (been a bit under the weather again - lurgi thankfully not the crohn's) - there's a few choice words I could use too and have come across the "to the face & looking in the eye" lying myself unfortunately ..... (((hugs)))
Glad SB has opened his first OU book & hope he settles into a routine of study soon - urgh to the bits of rabbit & OMG to the sheer audacity of the late paying tenant who expects redecoration to happen - what planet do these people live on!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

:rotfl:Enjoyable thinking of Colin Firth so close to your house! But I agree, very rude he didn't take the initiative and pop round for tea
Mad killer  I didn't know about thatsounds horrendous. Is it actually a person, or is it a pack of dogs or something _pale_
The problems partial disclosure cause are a great way of approaching what some of the hospital people are doing - sadly, you're likely to get a lot further with that approach because you're making it systemic, not criticising one person (even though you are! Mad).
Hope you have a good evening :kisses3:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Frozen sounds good. The clips didn't appeal but I'll see if SB fancies it. Have you seen "Long Walk to Freedom"? Any thoughts?rising_from_the_ashes wrote: »mmmmmm KJ - just catching up (been a bit under the weather again - lurgi thankfully not the crohn's) - there's a few choice words I could use too and have come across the "to the face & looking in the eye" lying myself unfortunately ..... Yah boo to lurgy...hope you feel better soon.
We'll get there slowly with the OU...slow and steady I think.
Tenants were served with Notice to Quit on Friday. That's 3 in the legal system now...costs a fortune.:rotfl:Enjoyable thinking of Colin Firth so close to your house! But I agree, very rude he didn't take the initiative and pop round for tea

Mad Killer is I think 3 men and a ferret. I spotted them out in the field last week. No idea if what they're doing is in any way illegal or just morally repugnant.
I'm hoping that seeing surgeon on Friday will do something to sort this out. Oddly enough I don't want to make an official complaint right before they target me with lasers. Makes me think of Bond and Goldfinger :A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0
