Last time I mentioned it the little sod rubbed his hands together and declared "if you keep dying then I'm staying here as I'll have an inheritance to spend!!"KJ
Sounds like one of my sisters. Many a time as a teenager, she'd some out with the comment "Dad, when you're dead, can I have your medals?" Usually when we were just sitting watching TV. Completely out of the blue.
Charming child she was/is.0 -
The boys are wonderful. We've an open air place very close to us and although he's done Anne Frank he'll have been much to young to remember. I did take him to John Soames House in London though and he absolutely loved that. For all we moan (and I mean for all I moan) I really feel humbled to live in such a great country where I can moan, and go out in public without a male escort and argue with doctors about medical treatments. How many people must wish that these were the sum total of their problems rather that the death and destruction that surround them? There's a Waterloo grave at a cemetery near us...I must pop in and take a piccie for you...very ornate from memory. It's the little things that fascinate me and how as the war recedes in living memory how the "little things" start to come out. Like the Blitz Spirit - no they were looting the burning buildings. How rationing really worked. the 10% of conscripts who never saw a uniform and were shoved straight down the mines.
Truly amazing stuff...Loving all these posts, the support and common interests are fantastic.Oh and got 30 new highlighter pens last week in stationery-gate. Salivating at the thought of whipping those out. :rotfl::D:D

Highlighters are of critical importance...what is life sans stationery?
NSD achieved as I made a roast chicken dinner instead of going out for something. Also made a huge pot of spicy bean soup which will do us a day or two. Grandad is off with a big bowl which will do him 2 or 3 meals so everyone's fed.
Rubber chicken never works here as SB is insistent that Husky and kittens get their share so all five of us are very full and happy. Husky also got the end of the mashed potatoes and some cabbage - she looks well on it :T
3 things today...
1) Having enough food so that everyone eats well, 2 or 4 legged.
2) Enough energy to make meals, wash up and do some washing. Don't always have that at the the moment so grateful when I do.
3) Body lotion. Smells good and really soothes my skin. Little things sometimes mean a lot.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
