  • Sar sent to Barclaycard.
    Will just see what happens.
Not bothered if 2 year wait as probably 5 years left on DMP anyways.

Also £10 fee might be a waste but £10 fee to HBOS helped FOS to change their mind so its all part of the bigger picture.

Also if I do get full refund off HBOS. That added to current DMP payments mean that in the new year I would have refunds equivalent to 50% of my outstanding debt ready to offer F&F settlements.

They arent all going to settle for that. In fact some mightn't accept anything less than the full amount. But worse case scenario I will only be 25k in debt. Sounds better than original 108k !!!

    Hello and Happy New Year.

I sent my SAR letters off to Barclaycard and received all the data.
They showed statements with PPI from

    a) an older Barclaycard opened in June 2000.
Surprised it goes back that far but account number and car number and a flag that PPI was the account.

    b) Morgan Stanley card taken out April 2003
    c) Goldfish card taken out May 2004

As ever just because I have now have documents to show that PPI was paid is not an automatic reason for a refund but I have filled a claim form in with the reasons I believe it was missold.

Will get an acknowledgement within a week and then a decision within 8 weeks. After that my PPI journey will come to an end.

Try on the debt free wannabe subforum for suggestions on what they will accept - you could try 50% or 75% but they may or may not accept it, who knows

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

  • thank you.
    Will do.

Received my acknowledgement for above and informed that I they will make a decision and let me know within 40 days.
By the date on the letter it works out that I should know by
    Friday 13th March.

So fingers crossed that another SAR has done the job.

Well done on your journey with PPI, glad you are sorting your debts out.
What an amazing total win :j:j brilliant :D:D
  • Got the letters off Barclays today.
They have reviewed the Morgan Stanley and Goldfish card PPI claims.

I done the application at the same time online.
They were both postal applications. I did tick both boxes back in the day. Gave same reasons. I actually copied and pasted the application

They were reviewed the same day by the same person and i got both responses the same day.

One was upheld (MF) saying they felt it was missold
The other was refused saying no miss-sale.
Seems a bit strange when same person reviewing identical claims but one that was upheld was worth a lot more than the one which wasnt :)
