Well done on all your complaints being up held .
It has been a harder slog timewise for me but the results of my complaints are still coming in I have three offers that I am awaiting payment .

I still think you should put in your complaint re Goldfish you may have a lengthy wait through the FOS but depends of the value you paid in premiums I suppose you have an idea ?

    Well done

    I don't have any idea.
Kept no paperwork as back in the dark days I used to bin everything. Have personally spoke to Lloyds, HSBC and Barclaycard about the Goldfish cards but no joy.

Should get paperwork before 7th April from Hbos to see how much I paid to them that got refused compen then may FoS that one.

But as I am still likely to be on DMP for another 5 years maybe it won't hurt :)

Barclays have a specialist team dealing with migrated accounts ie Goldfish they messed me about but I am near the finish line .
My complaint was with the FOS eighteen months but upheld in the end . ;)

  • received paperwork from HBOS
    Big blooming parcel.
Probably only needed a small % of it all ie agreement and monthly statements.

But looking at that I have paid £923 in PPI between March 2003 and November 2005 (which is the time I started my DMP and it was cancelled)

If adding 8% per annum as per similar compensation that would bring prospective compensation to £1,708

    Not sure whether to
    a) Offer them £1,100 as a F&F settlement (balance is £2.8k)
    b) FOS

Am aware that its potential 2 years and that they may still rule against me but even if I can sort some F&F offers out I'm still likely to be on my DMP for 5 years anyways so wait doesnt bother me.

re the Goldfish I have been on to Barclays and Lloyds and they all say either no record of PPI or not their problem.
I did get a payment of HSBC for old HFC loan but not sure if they would have been connected with it as the offer was F&F with no breakdown or explanation.

Am reluctant to get a company involved in case I was paid already of HSBC. I have been very lucky on my PPI journey so maybe I should just count my blessings and leave it.

In hindsight I think I should have just banged the SAR letters off to everyone before anything else but I am still happy :)

  • Received a cheque today off Capital One for £28.86

Total Compensation received now stands at £27,505.04

Refused by HBOS and hit a brick wall with GoldFish

I believe my PPI journey is reaching an end.

Never dreamt that when i sat down on Friday 3rd January with a phone, a list of numbers and a notepad that less than 3 months later i would have received compensation equivalent to 48% off my current debt

I am going to refer the bank of Scotland one to the FoS.
Thank you to everyone who has commented or advised or even just stayed silent and not berated me for being irresponsible years ago.

Despite no assets and living in a rented flat I am not going to bankrupt and do intend to pay every penny that I owe (subject to the odd F&F reduced offer)

This forum has changed my life and I will never forget that.

Rang Marlin (they have taken over the NRAM debt) yesterday and they have confirmed that the debt has been reduced by £1,790 as my PPI refund from NRAM.

I am going to give HSBC a call regarding Goldfish cards (have tried LLoyds and Barclaycard) and am contacting FoS regarding Bank of Scotland tomorrow.

Hello everyone. Long time no speak.
As you will see above I received all the info from HBOS and decided to get in touch with the FOS.
I got a last week from the FOS (taken 6 months so impressed with that as was expecting 2 years) and they believe i have a case and have wrote to HBOS advising them that and inviting them to give any reasons why I shouldnt have my case upheld.

Not sure which was the best investment.
Paying the £10 fee to get all the paperwork off HBOS or after agreeing with FOS that it was worth the hefty postage bill to send them the lot as they could then go through it and realistically there is nothing HBOS can add to what I have already sent them in black and white.

They have advised that they have wrote to HBOS and given them 8 weeks to make an offer or advise why they shouldn't.

    Fingers crossed

  • With an offer due before the New Year from HBOS.
I'm thinking I will try one last time with GoldFish.
I have the card numbers as they were taken over by Barclaycard. I don't have the originals but weirdly due to my 9th year on a DMP i do have all account numbers and card numbers.

I will send a SAR off but will it be to Barclaycard who have taken over the card or anyone else. The card was originally Marbles then goldfish and now Barclaycard.

Any help with an address or advise would be appreciated
