Everyone Welcome! It's never too late to join....
Please highlight your AFDs in Red
Don't hesitate to let me know if I've made a mistake! What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

So here I am again pitching up, hungover, remorseful, ashamed of something I've done & brandishing a new injury caused by my own carelessness when drinking.
Unfortunately, where I historically was seen as boyishly "good fun" and a bit of a "wild one" now I'm more of a drunk 40 something year old man. Its quite shameful.
I was mindful that I had to behave at this wedding but certainly said stuff I shouldn't have done and sadly have no recollection of doing something I shouldn't have done. Mr SPS had to apologise for me again so he is annoyed as well. Usual story of sending out messages of apology.
Rest of the bank holiday passed peacefully past until last night where I'd drank far too much at the in laws and injured myself when I got home (accident not deliberate).
So trying again. Back on day 1. 18/31AF
I have just pulled out Allen Carrs book on alcohol.
Maybe that might help.
I had told a few friends about going to AA but they all were of the idea that i didn't have the disease of alcoholism but certainly don't possess a stop button. It virtually always ends in disaster when i start.

20/22 for tonight please. Can I have April's target as 20 please shaggy?0

Piggles1, the fleas sound so demoralizing - hope you can get them sorted soon.
Stupotstu - so sorry to hear wedding and recent days have gone a bit awry - onward and upward? ... The main thing is you keep coming back here! I believe in you, I believe you will knock it on the head one day - because you keep trying, basically. It is a long road. I hope you recover quickly from your injury too.
I wonder what's happened to Yellowmonkey? ...
Shaggy, can I please set a target of 15 for April? ... PS I love walking too!0 -
Hello again. For various reasons I've had a fairly boozy March so I'm rejoining again in the hope of a better behaved April.
My problem isn't that I drink every day. I can easily go 4 or 5 days without even thinking about a drink but when I do start I find it hard to stop - even though I know I'm going to suffer for it badly the next day. I had big all day sessions on Good Friday and Easter Sunday ("I've got a day off so let's go to the pub!") but Saturday and Monday were both washouts where I didn't leave the sofa.
I like a drink but I'm getting sick of losing the next day (and in some cases the next two days...) of my life.
So, for April I'm going for 22 AFD but with the remaining 8 days being ALD. Let's try to do the whole month without a hangover!0 -
A message of support to anyone cutting down or giving up completely. Do keep going and stay off alcohol. I never drank that much, but about six months ago I quit completely. Alcohol is a huge waste of money and does you no good. Once you have quit you will feel so much better so do keep going.0

25/27 AFDs. Frustrating day with people eating hours of my time, grrr.
DH bought me a white chocolate Easter egg for £1 from Thornt0ns this afternoon. It's ALL gone now. Feeling bloated. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Hi Powerin, thanks for the message of support on here about your experience of giving up alcohol.
Stupotstu, so sorry to hear about the wedding disaster, hope your injury isn't too serious and you find a way through the aftermath with those affected.
I am ready to call it tonight, I've eaten and haven't heard bells in spite of OH pouring himself wine. Red, whereas white is my usual tipple. 7/14 for me please Shaggy. Now if only we were about mid month I'd be on target. I'm still planning to be AF tomorrow and Thursday.
I am trying to do WW again too and have eaten reasonably well, more veg and more water today so maybe that helped. At least I wasn't hungry or thirsty today out of the HALT one but I sure was tired.
Honeybear, your post made me smile too - time machine repair shops are the answer.
Sleep well everyone.0
