piggles1, I agree with Maman, a move is very stressful and it takes a while to adjust so be gentle with yourself. :)

Stupotstu, I had been wondering how you were doing - I've broken toes from being drunk before so feel your pain on that one. :) 9/29 is a step forward, surely? - putting a positive slant on it? - the main thing is to keep trying ...

Not an AFD for me today, meeting a friend later, going to buy her a champagne - she had a baby last year so has not been drinking much lately but has a night off so want to treat her. Back on the AFDs tomorrow. Nearly a quarter of the way through my total yearly target.

I'm also off to watch Arsenal tonight - won't be drinking, whatever the result - too cold for anything other than Tea or Coffee!
So it will be 2/31 today for me please.

    Hi All,

I realised this morning that i haven't checked out this thread for ages and I used to find it a tower of support. I wanted to come back and say hello and see how everyone is doing too.

I am aware that things have slipped a bit and I want to get a grip on them now before I slide down the slope too far. I am still able to get 2, 3 or 4 AFD's in a week, but I am aware that I am going over the recommended 15 units for a woman on my combined other days. That concerns me. Plus the other day when we got home it was about 7.30pm and from the back of the car my daughter piped up "Now your fine to drink wine Mummy!" I know she was pleased with herself for making up a rhyme, but the content concerned me. I don't want my children associating me like that. Maybe I am reading too much into it as I never drink and drive (not even 1), maybe I'm not, but it made me uncomfortable. Then I thought about the friends I have who don't drink at all in front of the children and the ones that regularly do. The children are getting older now and staying up later, so then what? All questions going around in my head. Wanting to set a good example too.

Last night I happened to see on my fb page a youtube clip about how experts think that even 15 units a week could be too much. They were classing binge drinking as more than 2 units in 2 hours more than 4 times a month!

I feel worried as I don't want to do damage, but equally I want to be able to enjoy wine without guilt (and a hangover of course).

In order to get myself back on track I am going to keep coming back to this thread on a regular basis. I felt motivated before and not worried about what I was having when I did enjoy a glass. Now I feel guilty for having 2 glasses of wine on a school night.

I have had a LFT in the last few months and that came back fine, which is reassuring.

Anyway, I would like to join the March Challenge please. Can I do 19/31 days thanks Shaggy. AFD from yesterday is 1, won't say for tonight yet, but will be back later to check in.

    Bye for now.
Live for the moment and plan for the future

HB, so sorry to hear about your friend. I hope you've got someone in RL supporting you through this? Hugs from your friend "in the box".

    SPS what did you kick?
    Piggles, how are you tonight?

    2/27 AFDs today.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

    2/20 for me please.

Being a new joiner to this challenge I can already say that it has motivated me. really do think that if I was not doing it then I would have had some wine tonight, so thank you for helping me.

My girls' night out on Friday has been cancelled, so I might even try for a AFD on Friday, which would be the first in years,, but then again maybe not!
What goes around comes around.....I hope!
