Welcome ElusiveLucy!
*Healing vibes* for your pet, computer and bank account, Cathybird.
I'm in the same boat as you and Shaggy and I hold my hands up to the self-inflicted thing. I needed a couple of smartish tops to go with black jeans/trousers, so I hit the shops during the sales. Even though I went very late in January I found some terrific stuff and came home with ... rather more than two tops. My lovely, very girly cousin told me some years ago that one of the reasons really good stuff ends up on the sales racks is that the wrong size label has been sewn into it, so I should always try beautiful things on even if they say Extra Small or Extra Large (which I'm not) but they look as though they'll fit. Snagged myself an M&S cashmere sweater dress marked S for a bargainacious price, even though I'm very definitely a 12/14, but it looks made to measure on me. Then found a couple of dresses that fit and make me look all and slim (I'm neither) so it would have rude not to, wouldn't it? Now skint, but I console myself that all I spent was my ex-booze money and I no longer have to panic thinking, 'But I haven't got anything to wear.'
27/29 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -
Have been giving March some thought after abstaining in January and February. Can I please set a target of 22 AFDs and that'll leave 2 days free at weekend for drinking plus my birthday which falls during the week. I'll leave setting a target for ALDs this month as not exactly sure what amount counts as ALD. I'll see how the month pans out but may add them as I go retrospectively if that's ok shaggy0

Shaggy can you make my target /13 for March. It's a longer month and I need the incentive to try harder !0

Hi Cathy - I try to post once on each page so I don't clutter up the thread with my posts - when the thread is a little quiet it can be a few days before I post - in January it can be everyday - in December once a week!
I popped in on Thursday and the thread hadn't flipped over to a new page. Yesterday I was just mad busy in RL - but everything is good here :-)
Okey dokey, will not fret in future. Glad to hear everything is good.0 -
Same. Though mine was self inflicted sort off - I needed a new coat (old one ripped) but ended up buying 2 jackets in the sales plus I needed a couple of jumpers and new PJs and I bought another new top just 'cos I looked great in it!!!! £300!!!
Well yes, but if you look good in these things, then it's all good0 -

ha ha, Honey BearJan/Feb is quite a good month to shop for clothes, I think, as a lot of stores are trying to rush through their winter clearouts so they can get all of the new spring stuff into the shops?? ... Sounds like you got loads of good bargains.
Thanks for good wishes re pet, computer and bank balance0 -
Just got back from the computer shop and they repaired my laptop for £30. Which I thought was pretty good. Happily I also sold an item on eBay for £130 today so I am now £100 ahead of where I was yesterday, which is unexpected to say the least! A bit of good news. :T0

27/29 AFDs today. Had a busy day. As I got to mum's care home to take her to the hairdressers, she saw me arriving and gave me the most beautiful smile and waved. It made my day!
Tonight DH and I have been to see Courtney Pine (he place bass clarinet which looks like a huge saxophone), his rendition of Amazing Grace made me cry it was so beautiful. He signed his latest CD for me. All for the bargainous price of £12.50 each at a University Theatre. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0
