For March, again setting myself a target of 15 days out of the 31, many thanks, Shaggy.0

I'm so pleased I got lots of AF days in early this month as this last half has been very social in comparison. I may need 29th to make my 14 smiley!
Definitely AF today.
12 AFDs please Shaggy
I'll have my usual for March which might be a struggle as it's my birthday and going away over Easter.0 -

Can I set my target at 20 AFD for March please?
[I've given up on Feb as I didn't set a target, so have nothing to beat myself up over! I will start anew in March, which with several family celebrations and Easter is going to be a big challenge]What goes around comes around.....I hope!0 -
Not an AFD for me but for the coming week am planning AFDs for Monday, Tues, Thurs and Fri (again). It seems to be working for me as a pattern. Hope everyone else is doing well. Piggles1, sorry to hear the moving is at that stressful stage! It's just something that has to be endured till it's done and then life can move on - I know you know that, I'm just saying.
Thanks cathybirdit's stressful when I don't know what's going on, but I *might* know more now and everything going to plan I'm on the move. I always err on the side of it might not happen, but I'm hoping it does.
Not drinking Wednesdays is a good idea. Mine seems to have fallen on a Monday at the moment. The other days are random and depend on what's happened and whether it was especially good or bad. Drinking when I'm stressed is a bad idea, certainly at the moment, but with things up and down constantly my routine is knocked out.Honey_Bear wrote: »Well done on last night's packing and cranbuerry juice, Piggles.
*healing vibes* for you, Satchmo.
Yesterday I was thinking about how 10 years ago I used to smoke like a beagle and drink more than was wise, not knowing at the time how to stop doing either, and feeling utterly helpless. What sprang to mind was why other people are so supportive of stopping smoking and yet can be so tricky about people stopping drinking. Odd.
And very strange that the government is very happy to help people stop smoking via the NHS with GPs taking a really positive, heavily promoted role, but as far as I know, nothing is promoted in the same way to do with cutting back or cutting out alcohol by the health service. Very odd.
Thanks Honey BearI managed another, so in my mind I'm back to 2 days AF, one day on. I was having 3 days AF so I'd like to get back to that again when all this unpheaval is over.
I think some doctors will give you help with drinking but only if they see on a form that your weekly units are huge. But I suppose a lot of people underestimate their figures for various reasons. It slips through though you're right, whereas smoking is more you either do or you don't, and if you do they offer to help.
A long time back I was referred to counselling for drinking. It was good for making me recognise what I was doing, but I'm not sure it had the answers. I carried on massively overdoing it for another 20+ years, although I still remember filling in a drink diary with the same names of who I was with all the time. That was useful, but peer pressure was tricky to deal with when I was young, and I'm not even sure I knew how to deal with the drinking and my mind at the time anywayIt's only now starting to become not the answer
14/18 AFD please shaggyfor March, please can I stay the same at 18.
woohoo! a smiley I thought was miles away is here!0 -
Evening all, I love reading through all the entries and can see it's a struggle for so many. I've not done well over the last few days either and I'm beginning to wilt a bit, which is soul destroying given that I thought I'd got into an AF pattern of not drinking for a few days after the weekend. Isn't it odd when your brain just makes up it's mind that at 5.30pm when driving home, for no reason at all, it's going to let you have a drink? Monday night and I'm on my second large B&C WHY??
I'm going to try to salvage the month by requesting please Shaggy that I change my target from 15 (which I now can't make) to 11 which hopefully is achievable. Sorry to give you extra work when you do such a sterling job already.0 -
22/29 for tonight please. Not sure about March yet though.0
