Yes please, what do I have to do?

Just post your target for the month and then post how many days you've achieved - big and red as that helps shaggy who does a fab job in keeping score each month. Plus you get smilies too :D

    11/29 for tonight please.

11/29 AFDs today. It was funny to have DH be the wine-glutton last night, instead of how I used to be. He finished the bottle. He's hilarious when drunk, and gets uncharacteristically giggly.

I'm unlikely to be sylph-like anytime soon, but I have lost 10lbs since Christmas. I aim to lose another 7lbs by the end of May to get me out of the 11st range.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

:TThat's great satchmo. You must be delighted. There are so many upsides to cutting down.

I think I've made my best start to a month for a while. I really think I'll manage two smiles for February.:D

    +1 for this evening.

This weekend I'm probably going to have a drink on both Saturday and Sunday evening. My wife and I have a few things planned, son is going to be staying with my cousin and it's been a while since I've stayed in my own house. Therefore, I think this counts as a "special occasion". :)

Maman: Somewhat off topic as nothing to do with drinking but have I offended you?

    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500

Morning all! Declaring early today - 7/15 for me please Shaggy :) Yay! Got to the magic number.
  • Thanks for your kind words everyone! I am beginning to see some longer term benefits to not drinking. It is still early days but I am not feeling like this is so much of a hardship any more.
Last night the boy was drinking my favourite wine he said you can just have one glass....yes I can but I'm not going to.

Gabriel1980aside from what has already been said,I used to get a nice treat -I love cheesecake or pizza so I am still having something after my week at work. I know you want to lose weight but it can only be one bit not the whole thing!

Now I am not needing a treat as I feel like it is its own reward.
If I am tempted I think I will just not have a drink right now and time passes and soon it is bedtime. You might find you don't want to stay up quite so late.

    Good luck!!
Do I really need it? Probably not.:A

Honey Bear, sounds great, except for the dentist part! Hope it went okay.

Gabriel1980, hello! My trick to deal with the urge to drink is just to say to myself: "Nope. Not tonight" or "Nope. Not right now". That decision to dismiss the craving seems to make it go away and I forget about it. If you think of it in terms of a month it might seem like a long time, even though it isn't really - best to think of it simply in terms of just this day (I find). Also, forgive me for asking, but if you can get through a bottle of wine in only three glasses (on Wed and Thurs), do you have quite large wine glasses? ...

In other news, I overdid it a little last night on the akvavit (I like akvavit) and felt myself veering vaguely in the direction of a hangover this morning, though no headache or anything, but just a slightly seedy edge. Am therefore very glad I have an AFD today and tomorrow and this thread to keep me on the straight and narrow! :)

I guess I do have quite large wine glasses. Usually three glasses full uses up a bottle.

    Morning :hello:

I had 5 units last night. Out again tonight but plan to do 4 units or less. I'll have water in the restaurant and just 1 or 2 glasses of wine in the pub after. Out with OH for Valentine's tomorrow - we generally share a bottle of wine which is 5 units too. The units are adding up this week!

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
