Don't hesitate to let me know if I've made a mistake! What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

What I can't seem to get over is drinking too much early evening. I do wait for wine o'clock (which is 6 p.m. in these parts) but then I drink the first glass(es) much too quickly usually while prepping dinner. Anyone else find this?
Hi Maman, yes this is/was EXACTLY my problem. I'd be checking the clock every 10 mins until 6pm then whoopee I'm allowed that glass of wine while prepping dinner. Problem was, drinking on an empty stomach made me lose my appetite fairly quickly, especially on the second glass of white, so I'd end up eating less as I'd mentally be juggling the calories. My resistance would then be low so after dinner I'd continue drinking, but add a few bags of crisps to the mix.... I've calculated that I probably drank/nibbled about 700 calories a night JUST IN BOOZE/CRISPS!!! Neither wonder I've lost 4lbs since I stopped this madness:)
So, having identified that 6pm was (and still is) my nemesis, I have a cup of tea until I sit down to dinner and once I've eaten a decent plate of food I don't feel like a glass of wine.
I'm hope this is the key to my success, this is half way through the second week and seems to have done the trick, but I'm not too getting complacent yet
Another AF night please Shaggy (sorry, I can't work out how to highlight red on this new laptop !!!)0 -

3/11 please.
Almost everyone's tale sounds familiar. The wine o'clock time, dinner prepping time, add the crisps and never mind time. It's all there.
Tonight I was tempted. Long day, meetings, marking (which I haven't finished and will get up even earlier to do). I am exhausted and the temptation is great. However, I've cooked the dinner and now I'm in the bath. (Bet you're glad we're not on Skype!) I'm languishing here as long as I can to stave the crave.
So, declaring earlyish to help myself.
I still feel I'm about to fail at any moment though.
Kind regards

No booze for me tonight!
I know exactly what everyone means about the first class of wine whilst cooking, losing your appetite and then snacking - is a pattern I follow too.
I'm finding the not drinking actually surprisingly easy one I've said 'no' for the evening so that is helpful.
Also a big hello to all the new people and all the returners.Trying to keep in budget.
