  • 2/14 as of last night for me, please Shaggy.

I want to try to get a "run" of a few days going, but it's Friday and that always seems to make it doubly hard: wish me luck, you lovely, lovely people!

    Morning :hello:

No more AFDs to report as had half a bottle of wine last night.

I was overcome with grief yesterday for my Dad and my Mum (it's coming up to the 15 year anniversary of my Mum's death). I cried myself to sleep :( 'Tis funny how grief sneaks up on you when you least expect it.

Anyways, back to being my cheerful self this morning :) Probably will be drinking this weekend but not sure.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

I am so pleased to report, after reading this thread for a bit, and getting encouragement, I have now had a whole week of alchol free. I have probably saved about £25 and that will go into the holiday kitty! Going to have a drink tonight to celebrate but wont have as much as I usually do. Thanks again You wonderful peep!

    Fruball - that was funny!:D
(Not funny that you had a drink, you know what I mean)

No more AFDs for me and I don't know how the weekend will pan out, but I won't overdo anything. I tried a low alcohol wine last night. It was from Banrock Station, so I thought how bad can it be. Quite bad it turns out. I mean it certainly wasn't totally unpotable, but it was quite sweet and not really like the grape varieties mentioned on the bottle at full voltage. But at 5.5%, it meant I only consumed 2 units.

Remember, I try these things so you don't have to.

:D Glad to make you laugh :D You also made me laugh with the sentence in bold :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Hilarious!

Last night turned out to be bad. Very bad indeed and I suspect I killed off a few million brain cells and my liver is probably crying.

    Absolutely AF tonight.

Shaggy, sorry to hear you are having a tough time. Losing a parent is just awful. Lost my Dad nearly 3 years ago and anniversaries/birthdays etc are hard. And you are right, it sneaks up on you.

Love to all - have a great weekend whether AF or not :j
  • 6/20 takes me up to yesterday.

I'm undecided about tonight. Part of me is thinking I'm only considering alcohol because it's Friday, rather than because I want some. Hmmmm.
