    7/25 for me today. :)

You are doing great! I am very envious. Any tips on how you manage to go from drinking a lot to doing so well? I really hope I can get to the stage of having 7 AF days in a row.

4/18 for me as of tonight please Shaggy. Friday was AF and tonight will be.

This is my first ever, ever posting on a forum - so please be gentle with me! I have spent most of the afternoon reading your inspirational posts. I've known for a long time that I really have to cut down on the amount of red I consume and hope that you are willing to take me on.

    4/20

Very stressful weekend has led to far too much in the way of alcohol and I have felt it all day.

Still cracked on and got almost everything done, just the ironing once Top Boy is in bed, then hot chocolate and bed with my book for me.

Taken the remaining alcohol out of the fridge as simply, if it isn't cold, I won't drink it.

That's me off it until at least next weekend.

    Hi all

I drank nearly a bottle of wine on Friday night which left me very fuggy yesterday so I haven't drunk anything else this weekend.

    6/16 AFDs please.

An early declaration of 5/16 for me. I usually go to the pub on a Sunday afternoon to watch the football but I'm not feeling too good today and I did over-indulge a little last night.

First of all, I'm proud to say I resisted temptation at my parents' when we had our weekly Sunday roast. :) They were, for want of a better phrase, dumbfounded!

Anyhow, that brings my total to a respectable 9/25. Better than I did the whole month in January. :o
You've stunned everybody into silence Alex ;). Another well done from over here.

I won't be AF tonight, shall have some red wine with our beef casserole.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend. And a dry one in every sense.

    Thank you and :rotfl:.

    Thank you.

As for tips, I don't suppose I have many. Last month I began to experience somewhat of a compulsion to drink, especially when things weren't going so well. It's not the first time this has happened in my life but was certainly the first time I realised it was not "normal" behaviour to reach for the bottle at every opportunity.

This month, I decided to make an effort to sort a few aspects of my life out - I don't want to be anxious and depressed forever. I still crave that nice soothing drink each evening (and sometimes even during the day) but ask myself if I really want to let myself down. Sometimes it takes my wife asking me and a certain degree of reassurance from her. We are also going out for evening walks before our son goes to bed, I've stopped going to bed at ridiculous hours and made an effort to focus on at least doing something each and every day.

On the flip side, I've had the best week in a long time and over the past two days have began to feel a little happier in myself (that could be down to the pills though :rotfl: :o ).
    2018 totals:
    Savings £11,200
    Mortgage Overpayments £5,500
