Feeling confident enough to declare 31/31. Mission accomplished!
Going out for some beers with friends tomorrow night so I'm a little worried that after a month of sobriety I'll fall over after the first pint.0 -
Can't do it. I want the smilies.* 31/31 tonight please.
My perfectionism has beaten me even if the booze hasn't.
I shall look forward to an imperfect Feb instead.
A huge well done to all those who did what they wanted to do. To those who may have been less visible or slid away - don't abandon us, cos we won't abandon you.
* there are other reasons, I'm not belittling the whole cut down/give up concept.0 -
Well by my calculations I end on here at 10/15. I fell off the wagon all last week which was very silly.
By my calendar I actually achieved 15/31 which simple amazes me. That's half. I've got to say I'm proud of myself. Not easy. And even harder watching my husband enjoying it all in front of my face but still.

Been out tonight to a wedding reception so had a few drinks. Got in and opened a can of beer. Just tipped most of it down the sink as wasn't in the mood, so having a glass of water instead.

14/14 for me please Shaggy and thank you so much for scoring! Please put me down for 14 in Feb too.
I've been surprised and pleased by myself this month. I didn't manage a steady 4 nights Monday to Thursday as planned but still dug in and managed to meet my target with a run of no drinking days since last Saturday. I've also managed two Fridays and a Sunday, and a work night out at a pub so I can do it! No Saturdays though.
I have found some days easy and a couple have been really hard. I particularly struggled with the days I had bad news about my job and my OH going into hospital although I didn't drink either day. In the evening when I get in from work if I can get to the point where I've eaten dinner it gets sooo much easier from that point on. I regret not joining in on here each day this month but I have been finding this a tough month.0 -
I feel really happy with how my January has gone, so thank you everyone here for sharing your stories, thought, struggles and successes - it's made a real difference.
I can declare January finished with 27/31 AFD and move onto February.
It's actually been great being AF and knowing that I'll wake int he morning with a clear head and more energy. I'm hoping it'll become a habit I keep up with well beyond the 'resolution enthusiasm'.Trying to keep in budget.

I was offline yesterday, but I managed to crack the month and end with 31/31 AFDs. Even when mum and DH were enjoying a glass of red wine with dinner. This week was easy though, because I was suffering with a water infection so it would have been foolish to drink alcohol for that reason alone. Sorry if that's TMI.
Well done to everyone for achieving however many AFDs you managed, through good days and bad. In 2012 I made everything an excuse for a drink - celebrate/relax/ease the pain - but that just bit me on the bum with too many hangovers. 2013 was a bit better, let's see how 2014 rolls out. It's amazing how many people urged me to open the champagne when I heard that someone wanted to buy our house. It was very handy to have the dry January challenge as an excuse not to.What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
HI all another 3 af to add for last month please shaggy
