Now here's a teaser. Does perfectionism sometimes have a bearing on the outcome of one trying to overcome a demon, whatever that demon is; over drinking, over eating, over spending, whatever. It's the picking up the phone after you've dropped it and not trashing it completely analogy. All..... Or nothing.
Therefore, to overcome that perfectionism (for anyone who's seen the episode of Big Bang Theory where Amy tries to cure Sheldon of his perfectionism by rubbing out the noughts and crosses game before he can make the winning move, and other ways), would it be an idea to have a drink tonight, just one, so the month hasn't been perfect, but at least we've been in control of how imperfect it's been.
Doshwaster's idea of a drinky at midnight gets round this rather neatly admittedly, but
I'm undecided. Risk missing out on a smilie or get a full house and work on perfectionism next month, and procrastination the month after that.0 -
14/15 AFD's for me please Shaggy - I will try for my target tonight but may well give in to temptation

Working until 10 but not going to spoil the month by drinking tonight :T
Well done to everyone on their success this month :A0 -
Didn't manage AFD yesterday but definitely will today cos I'm on night shift tonight - so today is #24/26 almost reached my target but I've not done so bad. Two days of alcohol is very good for me as usually I'd have a drink 5 or 6 nights a week!
Well done everyone on their achievements!

We'll tonight won't be AF but I will finish January on 7 AF nights which is probably just over 3 times my normal AF nights and I did have a couple of days in Spain for my birthday this month and I didn't start till about the 8th or 9th Jan
So I'm declaring January a success :j
Feb I have set a target so bring it onAs of 24th August 2016 total money owed was
£15,708 :eek:0 -
Thank you, 5 year plan, for your kind words the other day - I will seek out the books you mentioned. I'm currently reading Ruby Wax's book but have had to put it aside for a while until the "fog" clears a bit.
Anyway I've at least managed to complete this challenge so it's 31/31 for me please Shaggy, and thanks so much for keeping score.
Haven't decided yet whether to go for the full month on February or not so will post Feb's target later.0 -

You (along with all the others that have completed the Dryathlon) should win a prize for sticking with it and raising money for such a good cause - well done :j.0 -
26/31 AFDs for the month, missed target but nevermind, just above my average target per month for the year's aim of less than 50 days.0
