1/20 AFDs to kick-start Abstemious August.
I decided whilst doing parkrun at a slower pace than the rest of 2015's runs that I need to restart mid-week running as I'm getting slower every week at parkrun. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
1 for tonight, please. I can't say I'm in the best of spirits but have decided it's better not to drink, ending the evening in an inevitable argument.
I do know I would not have took this sensible option pre-MSE enlightenment days. Shows some progress, I suppose.

Morning :hello:
1 ALD for August for yesterday.
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

HoneyBear: The birthday party sounds great, I hope you enjoyed it.
It was huge fun! Quite a lot of people had gone to a lot of trouble to dress in 1950s clothes, so we had a lot of smart men and elegant women, with several people wearing hats as well. The host had organised two vintage coaches to take us from Plymouth to Bodmin, so there were lots of waves from people on the way which always feels special. There had been an accident on the main road, so the drivers took us over to Cornwall on Torpoint Ferry, and then via Looe, so we had a long but really beautiful journey down there. This was where we went and this is what the Birthday Boy had organised for us. Everthing was home-made, our steward was absolutely great and the journey back was quick along the main roads. Lovely. I thoroughly recommend that railway to anyone who's planning on visiting Cornwall this summer. Lovely people.1/21 AFD for yesterday - I was on taxi duty for hubby who was out with the boys.
Helpful, I've found, to offer to be the Designated Driver. Everyone's so (selfishly) thrilled they don't have to lash out for a taxi, make the phone call and try to make sober-sounding polite conversation with the driver that no-one ever, ever tries to persuade you to drink or call you a party pooper. Result!
2/31 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0
