    6/22 AFDs tonight.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

    8/31 please, Shaggy.

Thank you for your kind words Shaggy, Satchmo and Fruball. As to never wanting a drink again, well, that's probably not going to happen to anyone who has acquired the taste for it. But if you asked me if I could give it up and enjoy life more without it a year ago, I've have said, 'Never in a million years.' Just goes to show how wrong a person can be!

    3 please Shaggy :)

Thanks HB. I have a long way to go though! I wish I could just stop and never want a drink again :o

As HB says, I don't know anyone whose desire to drink has stopped and has never ever returned.
I haven't had a drink in more than 7 years, but very occasionally I have the desire to have a drink. It's rare, once every few months or so, and usually happens if I am feeling "left out" in some way.
However, that desire goes within a few seconds.

I sometimes have a desire to tell my boss to eff off and then resign, I sometimes have the desire to drive very fast, to have an affair, to start smoking again, etc

If I keep myself in and happy and calm state, then these desires float into my head and float out again.

If I just stopped drinking, I think I would always have the desire to drink and eventually I would succumb. That's what happened when I tried to stop by myself. Repeated failure.
For me to stop drinking, I had to change myself so I don't often have that desire to drink. It can be done.

    Good luck Fru.

I'm still here! Only just got internet access after moving house on 26th June - let's say that BT are not my fave at the moment...

July will be far easier for me but to ease me back in gently can I set my target for 20 days please? Already clocked up 5 AF days...

    5/20 for me.....

    :hello:

Back from holidays, all tanned and refreshed.:) No AF days to report but no hangovers and all drinking was moderate. Yesterday I only had a glass with lunch and had two cups of tea on the plane. I'd missed that more than the need to have booze. So that's progress!:rotfl:

Definitely going to be AF tonight as I need to get back on the wagon immediately rather than leave it until after the weekend. I don't need the calories and I need to start my July total.

    1 AFD please Shaggy.

Welcome back Maman. I was only thinking yesterday that you hadn't posted for a day or two and was wondering if you were on holibobs!

    9/31 please, Shaggy.
