Thanks for that HB. I'm a 5 Live fan too, fugitive from Radio4. Barnum is coming on tour to out local theatre so thanks for the review, glad you enjoyed it. Didn't see you as a theatrical landlady though!;)
I'm another who's managed to lose weight (and keep it off) with AFness. The thread is hugely helpful but so is not doing mindless snacking when resistance is low from booze.
Definitely planning to be AF tonight. Join me fruball and everyone else? It's hardly the weather for sitting in the garden with a chilled drink!:rotfl:
2 AFDs please Shaggy0 -
2/13 AFDs today.
Today's good things: my GS's 5th birthday, his lovely smile and meeting his baby brother for the first time (not related to me). Managing to do everything I needed in a very tight timescale this morning in order to be with him whilst he opened his presents. Seeing my son at the same time. I'm going to Zumba tonight for the first time here (my treat instead of wine, same monetary cost but wine's cost is considerably worse).
Today's bad things: DH's depression is raging again, I'm missing mum (she's in a care home), I'm weepy, I'm headachy because I'm grinding my teeth, I'm tired. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Thanks HB. He is really having a bad time at the moment, and it makes me so sad for him. At his age i was going out with friends, enjoying life etc, but he doesnt have any of that and barely leaves the house.
Anyway,i drank a few glasses of wine last night, which isnt good. BUT maybe setting my 1st goal as the whole month AF was a mistake anyway.
Can i please change it Shaggy? I think i will go for 27 instead?
I am just stressed in general at the moment- work has not been going well, then my sons problems, then the lack of sleep i have been getting.
None of those are excuses to drink though, so aiming for another AF here tonight.0 -

Thank you, leg still swollen, but breathlessness has gone, so must have been anaemia rather than a PE. Last week had CT scan and then on Friday Endoscopy and colonoscopyHoney_Bear wrote: »Barny, it's great hearing about your Clean Sweep plus 50 In A Row - they're milestones and a huge achievement! I hope the tests show that there is nothing sinister in the system and by knocking the drinking on the head for a bit your body gets the chance to self-repair find its equilibrium again.
Woohoo thats fab.
Changing Ways also fab
2/30 please Shaggy.

Fruball, you may not be hitting your target but improvements are the way forward so carry on with what you're doing. You'll get there..
Well yes, these things should be celebarted. Sorry you've had so much horrible news.
Belated happy birthday Satchmo and it's refreshing to hear that your DH celebrated it with you.
NewRoadAhead, I used to lie awake for hours so I asked OH for a digital radio for Christmas a few years ago and now put an earpiece in and listen to Radio 4, Radio 4 Extra or the World Service when I can't nod off. Music doesn't work for me at all, but I find talk radio very soothing and it always sends me off. Lying there fretting exhausted me and it went on for years so I feel your pain.
Alchemilla, are they all overweight? Is that the underlying condition that has caused their admissions? And so young, too. Very, very frightening.
Chardonnay, 23 is brilliant, even if it isn't what you intended.
31/31 for May please, Shaggy. I'm pleased to be able to say that since I stopped drinking I've now lost over a stone and am back to the weight I was before I gave up smoking in 2006. In fact, I'm back to below that weight and I've had to go all the way back to 2005 to find when I was anywhere near what I now weigh; before that I didn't used to to weigh myself because it wasn't an issue. I'm rather chuffed because I didn't think I could do it but the sugar cravings have at last been kicked into touch, I think, although I could murder a pile of Twinks Hobnobs if I let myself.0 -
Sorry. Made a right pigs ear of multi quote.
Yes all the men in the ward were overweight.0 -
