25/31 for me too. Not long to go but I won't drink next weekend either as don't drink on a Sunday generally - although I might make an exception as it's 1st Feb and having in-laws over for lunch. Has anyone thought about their plans from Feb? Since last year's Dry Jan I had cut down to only drinking Fri and Sat unless on hols or special occasion. My plan at mo is to only drink Friday or Saturday unless on hols or special occasion.0

Managed to pass by Belle's Tired of Thinking of Drinking 180 Day Target without realising it! I have to say, the counting in the early days was incredibly helpful in getting me through and now, although I still have my rituals like posting on this thread, the counting seems to be something I now need to remind myself to do. I think that may be progress. Anyway, it's Day 183 today and I'm pretty chuffed about that.
Calling early, at 24/31 please, Shaggy.
What is Belle's tired of thinking of drinking?
I am calling in early tonight. Forgot my number but 1 more please shaggy and SNC this week is 4 nights. As of tonight 1/4
I won't make target this month but on drinking nights I have had fewer drinks but bigger headaches the following day! I always said that my lack of hangovers is bad news when it comes to self discipline so I am welcoming these headaches as a deterrent!0 -
Declaring early with 25/31 AFDs. On the home stretch now
Just wanted to record huge admiration for all of you going for the Dry January (and beyond HB;)):A I'll be cheering as you come past the winning post!!:TMe too as found after last Jan that my tolerance was a lot lower and it took less alcohol to have an effect. It made me a cheap date :rotfl:
That's exactly the effect cutting down has had on me. I was worried to begin with that I'd play catch up at weekends. Instead, 99% of the time I switch to tea or a soft drink mid evening. My stop button is well and truly found.:D0 -
Just been out to buy wine ....... for Mrs BHB
I have to admit to buying Lager for myself
Becks Blue AF stuff
Bit of a shock though - £3 in Mr T's and nearly £5 in the Coop - not very MSE eh? ...... Still at least I didn't give in. Just got to keep away from Mrs BHB's wine now though.
So calling in early 25/31 please Shaggy - that way I won't be tempted cause I will have to own up to you lot later if I gave in !CC = £000000000000000000000 !!!!!

Thank you all for the kind comments about the 180 Day Challenge.
Fruball, I misquoted Belle's blog title, it's actually Tired of Thinking About Drinking, sorry about that. Belle has a 100 Day Challenge and that's how I stopped drinking - participants email her every day, long or short emails. Most of mine just say 'Sober.' She replies, every single day and the support lasts as long as participants want. I've just finished the second of her Challenges, the 180 Day one and am on one of her lists on this link:
https://tiredofthinkingaboutdrinking.wordpress.com/blog/
I'll be signing up for the next Challenge, which is 365 Days, and to do so all I have to do is email her the new pledge and that's it, I'm on her list.
It's free and I know some people on this thread had a good old sniff around her blog a few months ago when I mentioned it, but as far as I know I'm the only person who's currently posting who is giving up permanently with her support. A lot of want-to-be-sober bloggers mentioned her when I started reading about sobering up and I thought I'd give it a whirl. It's worked for me so far.
I told Belle about this thread and she said she wished there had been something like it for her when she stopped drinking after she'd read some of the posts. Given that she's been sober for two and a half years that means her initial research didn't uncover it. This was the first place I came the day I decided the boozing had to stop.Just been out to buy wine ....... for Mrs BHB

Good to know Mrs BHB is enjoying her wine. The price of B£ck$ B1u£ varies, and at the moment Morribund's has 15 bottles for £6 which is the cheapest I've ever found it. The Co-op shop at the bottom of our road sells it ready chilled so the mark-up is justified I suppose, and Sainsbobs and Morribunds usually sell the 15 bottle box for £7. The way I look at it is that it's cheap in comparison to the amount I used to spend on wine or gin and tonic.
25/31 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -

Exactly - this is what I am thinking, though as I said the other day it seems only a short step to the real stuff, so have decided only to have it on the weekend during this months challenge.
During the week will have to put up with fizzy water, ginger beer and tea!
Didn't know you can get a case of 15 though ....... will investigate....CC = £000000000000000000000 !!!!!
