Interesting articles spiv and I know that for me moderation is the real target as I have no intention of giving up what is a real pleasure in life for me such as a nice crisp dry white wine in the garden in the summer or a quality red with my sunday roast BUT and I may be speaking out of turn but I am fairly confident that the people who post on this thread have or had some concern that their drinking was not moderate enough and therefore are taking action with the support of each other
I have been AWOL for this month
as I have been sorting out the other issue in my life which took a higher priority I'm afraidThe good news is I am now 18 days off the fags now and doing OK. It really would have been a bit much for me to focus on both which is of course an excuse but I take responsibility for that decision.
I do still want to moderate my drinking though so for February I will be going down the target free route and aim for a unit number instead.
Well done to everyone reaching their targets this week :T0 -
Thanks for the kind words, satchmo
Well done, Baileysonice on the cutting out the fags:), I must confess, that I think I'll go for moderation rather than complete abstention from drinking once dry Jan is complete - I hope to keep it for weekends and to watch the units.
24/31 for today please, Shaggy - on the home run now, so I'm determined not to crack!0 -
The after work wine and snack stop is definitely my downfall, money, joy an weight-wise so can I join please. Started really well but gone downhill recently, so just 17/31 so far. Looking to be better in Feb. Always looking to be better...
DMI have borrowed from my future self

24/31 for tonight please. Have found last night and tonight the most tricky although not sure why. However, determined not to fall at the final hurdle.0

Welcome to the fold, Dansman
Well done, Baileysonice on the cutting out the ciggies.
Debjay - don't give in now .... nearly there
shhhh - don't tell anyone ..... 24/31 and no bells .... at all for a couple of days!
Been for a long walk in the woods today with the family and dog - that blew the cobwebs away - just feel like curling up in front of the woodburner now.
Have a great evening everyone.
