    Morning all,

Well done to all the 'dry January' people - you are all doing amazingly :j

Congratulations Maman on resisting the temptation to carry on drinking once you got home :T

IBS creates a vicious circle: I don't feel physically well enough to go for a run, but a run is my best stress relief.

For my IBS, I do yoga when I don't feel up to much else. :)
I usually cycle a lot, but sometimes IBS gets the better of me, especially when I have been drinking the day before.

Can honestly say in 16/17 days of not drinking have not had any trouble from IBS. It's obviously connected with me. :o

    Hope you feel better

Morning all. Love the Mastermind analogy maman, and am all too familiar with it! Well done for resisting.
Hope you feel better soon, satchmo.
Thanks to everyone for all the support and encouragement - this is one of the nicest threads I've been lucky to stumble upon on the 'net I think:)
So glad I declared early yesterday - I wasn't needed as a late night Taxi after all, and after a couple of silly little incidents yesterday left me with a downer on myself, the bells were ringing a little last night; I couldn't ban myself from the wine bottle because I had to drive since I no longer needed to, but I COULD do it because I didn't want to have to creep back on here and retract the day I'd declared!
Managed to stay off the chocolate yesterday too, and am not quite so tired this morning - don't know if that's just coincidence or whether all the sugar is actually what's having a detrimental effect on my energy. Will try for another healthy(ish) food day today and see how I feel tomorrow.
Mood isn't great, but don't think I can blame the AFDs for that!
Anyway, I'm waffling now - sorry - will hopefully be back later to declare another day:)

I think you got a bit over excited with AFD-dom, OM :rotfl:

14/31 AFDs for me today. Still feel quite yuk, so I'm having another day off from being the house-maid
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Is anyone watching the dieting programme series? It made an interesting point about not giving in to the food which is being pushed at every turn. It made me think about the pushing of alcohol. So many soaps, etc, have booze at the centre of social activities, and wine at every dinner.

Yes - nothing worse than having a craving for beer when all they do is keep pulling pints in front of you.

Without B3ck's B1u3 I'd find being AF much trickier, but I know there are people who find alcohol substitutes a no-go area. It would be interesting to know what you think, WBF, but I won't hold it against you if you decide not to do the sampling for us. I'd be interested in the gin substitute, if you're wondering about thread members' preferences!

I've always felt what's the point? That's partly the mse in me as I would begrudge paying much the same price for a substitute. What's odd though is that I'll pay for fizzy water sometimes and that's hardly cost effective.

I watched it last night and completely agree. When I fist started I was OK on a Monday because I invariably go out and I'm driving. But Tuesday evenings were a struggle when they were all in the bar at Holby City.:( I still get the odd bell ringing but I'm used to it now.

I'm not having a drink tonight, despite my team being on TV again. We're the new media darlings. MUFC eat your heart out!:D
