Thanks Honey bear .... Had a similar story when I was 10 weeks free a couple of years ago. I had Mollypolly and Jo to whip me into shape then but for some stupid reason caved at 10 weeks and have barely had a dry day since.
Going through the knackered feeling and not sleeping at the moment after only 6 days AF. Though I know from experience that it will get better.
Eating lots more sugary things at the moment, but know this wars off after a while.
Read Alan Carrs giving up Alcohol book over the holidays which I think is helping. Being on here with you lovely bunch of people helps too.

Thanks Honey Bear, I'm going to stay AF tonight and get an early night in the hotel and spend the time chilling instead of drinking at dinner. If I keep doing the same things I'll keep getting the same results and I want things to change and get back to hitting my second smiley each month and feeling good about that (so sad I know!!)
BHB, I remember how well you were doing back then so it's great to know it works and you have it in you. We haven't seen (read!) Molly Polly for ages but Jo popped back on here a few months ago.
Like HB it's great to see so many folks on here again, very nice to have lots of posts to read.0 -

If I remember rightly, Mollypolly use to threaten me with a whip if I drank :DCC = £000000000000000000000 !!!!!

I remember it well!!:rotfl:OH is also doing Dry Jan but can't see him lasting the month if I'm honest.
My DH said he was cutting down although I see no evidence of it at the moment. I've never nagged him but he offered the information. I'm just keeping quiet and trying to avoid a wry smile.;)
I had a couple last night out with friends but nothing major. Back on the wagon tonight.

Morning all
Honeybear - I find your posts really inspirational - I don't actually want to give up alcohol completely as I do enjoy a relaxing evening in with a good DVD, a glass (or two!) of wine and the cat curled up on my lap but I have been trying to cut down what I drink when I go out and have found it hard as the friends I go out with are quite heavy drinkers. Although they have never put pressure on me to drink I usually have done in the past
. Reading your last post has given me some tips to help avoid this happening so much in the future
I am glad to be back in the 'fold' :j Even though I hadn't gone off the rails while I was away from the thread I was probably drinking on more days than I should have been - even if it was only 1 glass of wine
Am off to my weekly Zumba class tonight so I know I won't drink when I get home so declaring early on 3/12 please Shaggy.
Have a great day everyone :T0 -
I don't actually want to give up alcohol completely
Neither did I SukeyBoo, but I don't think I'd got a lot of other choices in the end. At the back of my mind I sometimes think, 'I'll have a red wine when ...' and I may, one day. Just not yet. Thank you for your kind comments.Better is good enough.0 -
I don't actually want to give up alcohol completely
Me neither, but it seems I can't just have a day or two here and there with a couple of beers, its 4 cans every night or nothing, I'm afraid
The trouble is, once I have one then I easily persuade myself that its OK to have another, and then another
It seems much easier to talk yourself out of it if you haven't had the first one
