Good Morning!
8/10 please Shaggy.
DH & I had a couple of drinks together on Sunday afternoon, no kids, no TV, no-one elsejust the two of us. We had a good chat about nothing in particular then went home to cook dinner for us all. I didn't have a hangover or feel terrible about something I may have said yesterday and I was pleasantly happy about this. If I am able to control my drinking like this say once of twice a month then this is the way forward for me. DH seemed more contented, like his old self.
Have a great Tuesday everyone :wave:0 -

Sounds like you and DH had a good time penny. I think what you describe sounds like 'normal' social drinking to me as a cutter down. IMO if the 'demon drink' isn't adversely affecting you socially, emotionally, physically or financially then you're in control.:)
4 AFDs please Shaggy.0 -
Hi all,
Not been keeping up this last week - too busy at work.
5/15 to report as of today please Shaggy.
I thought 5 days didn't sound many on the 11th but then remembered the month started with Saturday.
Since my sober October, not being a giver upper i think I've done ok. OH & I will always have a drink on Saturdays & Tuesdays (dont work Wed), it's the other days I am trying to stop, or controll better. I managed to abstain on Friday while OH just had a couple of cans at home - this seemed to be the key to a great weekend. We watched a film, got loads done on Saturday, enjoyed a nice meal, wine etc on Sat night & were up early on Sunday.
We had a nice walk in the hills and then a quick trip to the pub, saw some friends and had a couple of drinks - enjoyed it & then went home to tea and an early night. Woke up on Monday with a clear head and no guilt about drinking too much.
As well as walking I was able to get in two exercise sesions which always makes me happy.
I always think we finish the weekend happy and content if it's been balanced - so yea we had two evenings/afternoons with drinks - but not three. We got jobs done, ate well, got fresh air, saw friends and excercised. Nothing to feel bad about - Happy Cat.0
