That's a lovely thing to say, Muser, thank you. I love being a contributor on MSE forum threads because it's such a supportive place. Blogging would be very lonely in comparison.
I'm trying to be as honest as I can about going booze-free, so that if anyone else is thinking about knocking drinking on the head they'll realise it can be okay. It was other people's honesty here and elsewhere that made the thought of doing it a real possibility, and staying stopped is helped massively just by being here. I love the fact that there's a virtual community on some threads - that's very important to me.Better is good enough.0 -
5/21 here
I overindulged last night as I bumped into some friends I hadn't seen in years so I skipped my usual Sunday afternoon wander to the pub in compensation.
Next week should be fairly quiet so I will be able to rack up a few more AF days.0 -
6/20 AFDs and just ONE glass of wine last night, which is a huge improvement on recent Saturdays. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

4/23 AFDs today0

That's exactly what I'm hoping for. Like you, I've been doing some compensation. A single glass (like you satchmoIt can be done!) on Wednesday and then more wine on Thursday after the cinema (Mr Turner, thoroughly enjoyed it) but I cut my planned Friday drinking by half to cancel it out.
Definitely back on the wagon tomorrow, looking forward to it.:)0
