    11/30 please Shaggy.

    Happy hump day everyone.
  • Morning 9/30.

Thank you Maman & Graeme who commented on my post.

For so long I have been an out of control drinker that for me to have a couple of social drinks with DH seemed like a breakthrough for me. Its very early days still and I only can think about each day at a time. Week days are easy, its the weekends that can be a stumbling block.

Totally agree.:) and I find the thread really helpful in helping me monitor my intake.

It is a breakthrough, you've made an excellent start:T. When I first joined the thread I found every night difficult as I'd got into the lifestyle of daily drinking after work. You're ahead of that already. The biggest worry for me was 'playing catch up' at weekends in that I'd perhaps drink in a weekend what I'd have otherwise spread over the week. Fortunately I don't. That's partly because cutting down has reduced my tolerance and I can't cope with too much any more. Keep at it, you'll get to where you want to be.

    No drinking here today.

    5 AFDs please Shaggy.

9/20 AFDs for me today, and because my mood (and DHs depression) have lifted it hasn't felt difficult.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

TBH I am not and have never been a social drinker (even though I did the bulk of my drinking in a social setting and not in the house) so perhaps I am not best qualified to judge.

Though I would think that most social drinkers are 'take it or leave it' and don't need a forum/thread to keep on top of their drinking.
They treat alcohol like broccoli. If there is some in the fridge, they will maybe cook it. If not, they won't go to the shop at 9.45pm to get some.

Perhaps I am totally wrong, but the thread is called "Giving Up/Cutting Down" so that suggests that at some point in time people were drinking more than they wanted. And if you keep doing something you don't want to do, that can be problematical.
