Pushing out thefor ya. Do you wanna set a target for October?
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

Love post #3533 Shaggy!
30 Days for November please.
And the Heads Up - if all goes to plan, Day 100 will be Sunday 2nd November, so I'll be drinking the champagne on Monday 3rd November - just kidding. I sometimes think the only way I could forget that I don't drink any more is when I'm drunk, which is a bit of a chicken and egg situation really, in a good kind of way.Better is good enough.0 -
In the kitchen preparing dinner but doing a slow cooker recipe for tomorrow at the same time. In my head I am justifying all sorts of reasons to have a glass of wine despite my "sworn" 21 day ab challenge which involves no alcohol. Really, really struggling not to have a drink!!
I can see a walk coming on soon to kill off some time before bed. OH is on way home and has already asked me to pop a bottle of white into the fridge for him to have a few glasses of when he comes in. How delicious that seems in my head!
Anyway..............9 AF including tonight as I WILL stay strong!
Good Luck to anyone struggling!

Good point.
My favourite drink was the one before the first one. The imagined one.
When I heard the pop of the cork or the sound of a can opening I felt better.
I hadn't yet put any alcohol in my body, but I felt immediate relief that the booze was forthcoming.
That tells me the my alcoholism is centered in my head, not my body, and thus my head needs to be worked on (abstinence is not enough by itself for me).
I know I have alcoholism because I treated alcohol very differently to say, broccoli.
I never used to get stressed because there was no broccoli in the house. I never thought about popping out to the local shop at 10.30pm to get some broccoli. Never panicked about a party thinking there may not be enough broccoli. If there was broccoli, I could take it or leave it.
My relationship with alcohol is very different to that. I will never have a normal relationship with alcohol. I accept that now, and now I have accepted that, life is much easier.
Good weekends to all0 -
Morning, Graeme I know exactly what you are talking about - how the drink before you actually drink your first is the best. Work was hectic yesterday and as I drove home I imagined 'would l have a Rose wine or a lager first'..........THEN real life kicked in again with kids home from school, cooking, taxi eldest son & friends to party, check work hours online etc. etc. No time at all for a drink which I was pleased about. I am awake at a decent hour and not suffering
Tonight I'm going to a 40th birthday party. I've no intentions of having a drink or even staying that long!
24/31 please Shaggy.
Have a great Saturday everyone!0
