Me too! Half a stone would be nice:)

Me three for the 'wishing to lose a bit of weight.
I think that the running must help a bit with keeping my weight down but I also need to look at what I am eating and drinking too.
    Trying to keep in budget.

Me four for losing a bit of weight, but it's not that much of a priority right now. I'm not a believer in diets. My mother had a lifelong weight problem and did every diet there was. She always always always put it all back on again. I've also found that exercise, walking or swimming are the only two I can stick at, always results in me coming home and shovelling food into me until I feel as though I've had enough, and that is always way too much.

So, I'm aiming for natural weight loss by not drinking alcohol, which so far has resulted in the grand total of about 250g a week and that's just fine. If it happens, it happens, and if not then I'll think of another way to approach it, which will probably be no cheese until I've lost a stone. (Does anyone else do bi-lingual weights?)

Thank you for my lovely Congrats post, Shaggy. I'm up to Page 40-something on the thread so far, and your piccy-choice is the best! The Legendary Stop Button is always at the back of my mind now, too. Very helpful.
    Better is good enough.

Me five on the losing weight. I've dropped four pounds without seeming to try, and that's all down to portion sizes. Since mum came to live with us, I've been cooking the same amount of food for three people as I did for two. Mum eats very small meals (think daddy bear, mummy bear and baby bear and that's about the apportionment).

I do have to be careful, because mum and DH both love sweet things, and have formed a clique to egg each other on. That's fine for mum as she needs the calories, but DH has developed a belly again. I have to reach for the fruit to avoid the cakes/biscuits.

I guess I'm getting more exercise as well, when I take mum out in her wheelchair.

I must do better in September than I have in the previous two months on the AFD-front. Calling in early with 1/20 AFDs to kick the month off. I'm suffering today, as we were celebrating my great-nieces Christening yesterday. Her mummy took the opportunity to announce that she's pregnant again (that'll be 3 under 4... eek).
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Satchmo, the three bears are one of my favourite cartoons ever. Mummy Bear is wearing an apron, standing in the background, Daddy Bear is wearing a trilby and Baby Bear is throwing a strop on the floor. Holding his spoon high in the air over a bowl, he's howling with rage, 'How in the hell can a small bear ever grow to be a big bear if people keep stealing the sodding food out of his bowl?'

It makes me cry with laughter every time I find the original Athena postcard.

Just wanted to say a big :Tto everybody for each and every AF day achieved in August and a massive thank you to Shaggy for keeping us posted.

I'm determined to get off to a good start for this month so I'm calling now.

1 AF for September please Shaggy.

P.S. I started on here because I wanted to lose weight and stop drinking all the empty calories. Unfortunately, cutting down alone wasn't enough but I know that I couldn't have gone ahead and changed what I eat without changing how I drink too.

That's just made me snort with laughter :T

I had a great 6k run this evening, which de-stressed me much more than a glass of wine would have done.
