*grabs Barny's hand* and skips across the line:
31/31 please Shaggy!
No month is ever going to be so precious as this first one totally alcohol free, so thank you every single person that has lurked and thus bumped the numbers up, or more helpfullly, posted during August with special thanks to Shaggy for being fabulous as well as dedicated, Maman, Gien, Chardonnay, Fruball, RedemptionSong, GraemeCarter, Wanna Bee Free, AlexLK, Top Girl, Macpep1 and Barny for persistence in the posting area and all round support. I couldn't have done it without you all.
And in real life, that's a total of 37 days sober. It feels pretty amazing.Better is good enough.0 -
WOW, WELL DONE
Honey Bear, that's great!! :j:j:j
I can feel your happiness from your post - I am thrilled for you.
Here's to a great September too!!Trying to keep in budget.

Thank you Gien - I am very, very happy. For the past few years I've found that personal achievements are more satisfying than buying 'stuff' or going on expensive holidays, and two months ago this one just wouldn't have seemed possible. In addiction therapy, apparently, it's called having a 'high bottom' (if only, in real life) rather than waiting until I reached rock bottom to start dealing with the issue.
I started reading Drink by Ann Dowsett Johnston last night (library book), and came across a quote that I found helpful, so it's my new signature. The over-confidence thing is my biggest worry.Better is good enough.0 -
Morning :hello:
We had a long weekend away so no more AFDs to add for August. Will be jumping back on the wagon tonight and clocking up 1 for September hopefully - out for a friend's birthday meal tomorrow - think I might make it an AF evening. Will see.
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
Also, I want to lose some serious lard before Christmas so fewer empty alcohol calories will help there.
Me too! Half a stone would be nice:)What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
