Bummer about the boiler, Redemption Song. Hope tomorrow brings better news.
Interesting, Fruball. I hope the feeling lasts long enough to give you a good run at it.
There could be any number of reasons for feeling tired, Gien, but if you google Post Acute Withdrawal Symptoms and read several different articles, you'll get a broad view of what might happen if you suddenly stop taking an addictive drug, and you might find some of it applies. I think it does in my case and apparently other people who have commented on this thread have experienced similar feelings. I was completely side-swiped by it for three weeks, but it gave me a good opportunity to do a LOT of reading, which included reading up on the subject of just stopping drinking one day after more than 20 years. (If I'd got the shakes I'd have been in the doctor's surgery so fast you wouldn't have seen me for dust, but I didn't, thank God.)
I'm still amazed at the fact that I'm now able to say that it's been 27 days AF and that means tonight is 21/31 please Shaggy. OH had poured himself a glass of red wine to have with dinner tonight, and he left it exactly where I sit so it was in front of me when I sat down. I have to say it looked very tempting, but I'm not that sure I was particularly tempted. Much less so than last night, strangely enough; I really wanted one with dinner last night so I gave myself a stern talking to, and poured a very large tomato juice, added ice and a heartily generous heave of worcester sauce. It was so sour it worked!Better is good enough.0 -
It depends on who you go to. I saw a famous (in her field) hypnotherapist my first time and it was very expensive but extraordinarily effective and I left her house a changed person. This one is cheaper and I didn't feel like a completely changed person but I did really enjoy it and only time will tell whether it has worked.
Sending you loads of positive vibes.:)0 -

Gien, I woke up this morning knowing I had to say 'Huge congratulations' on going five days AF! I totally forgot to after you mentioned your tiredness when I posted and just wanted to cheer you on.
And Maman, obviously, huge congratulations on meeting your target!Better is good enough.0 -
Thanks Honeybear! I feel good for not having had a drink and it hasn't been too difficult, probably because I said I wasn't going to drink - it's quite a definate thing. Not sure about tonight I might have a beer buz we have no wine in the house and I cannot be bothered to go abd get any!Trying to keep in budget.

7/14 tonight!! Thanks shaggy
Well it's been one of those truly farcical days today - it started at 5.10 am when ds2 thought that this was a perfectly respectable time to bounce awake and into action - he's 2 - and crazy, and energetic - and an array of unplanned car journeys and events stemmed from there!! Soo glad I wasn't feeling below par today!!
Anyway the heating man has just left, and after much head scratching and he finally got the boiler going and I have the luxury of heating and more importantly hot water again :T (No bill yet, but OH can take care of that - his punishment for leaving me home alone with all the responsativies for 7 months out 12:()
So tonight it's just me and the furry one - I have a yo sushi takeaway box, my treat for all travelling, I think a hot bath (maybe even shave legs) and an early one, maybe some crappy tv or browse some threads on here - I feel really humbled by some of debt free diaries on here and how resourceful people can be despite what they up against! Anyway hope you all have a fab Friday x x x xDebt Aug 14 - O/D £1250, Halifax CC £1915 (0%) Santander CC £1450 Barclay CC £345 Next 335

Too tired to even contemplate alcohol, yet can't sleep.
Ah, well.0 -
22/31. Not drinking felt completely different last night - we'd usually have fish and chips (+ a bottle of red) on Fridays but I can't get to the chips in the freezer at the moment as I'm open freezing 44 mackerel fishcakes. They're very precariously balanced on the top of two drawers so it had to be a takeaway. The only alcohol I've ever enjoyed with a Chinese takeaway is sparkling white, and although I've got a relatively drinkable AF one in the fridge I wasn't bothered or tempted enough to go and get it. That feels like a seismic shift.
Pizza tonight. I want to wander around the house like Robbie the Robot from Forbidden Planet waving my arms shouting, 'Danger! Danger!'Better is good enough.0 -
