    12/31 AFDs tonight :)
  • 13/31 for me today please.

Hoping to eat out later this week, we've got a voucher:money:
Unless driving, which isn't often since we only try to go to places in staggering distance, I don't think I've ever been out as a adult and not imbibed. I normally down at least a half bottle wine with dinner out so we'll see how that goes. Now that will be a cheap night if it goes to plan. And the pub isn't flooded out.

13/31 AFDs in the bag tonight

Good news on the parkrun Facebook page today. A new venue (Ormskirk, Lancashire) will begin in March - just ahead of my move Northwards. Ormskirk is only 20 minutes drive from where we'll be living. I'm very pleased with that running news.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

    Hi!
I know Im coming in late for the January challenge, but may I join? I have spent many years happily drinking, and then the last year decided it was a bit concerning I wasn't able to go more than a day without a drink. I have really really cut down, and feel very excited I might be breaking free of the chains.
As there are 19 days left of January, could I pledge 15 AF days please? With today being my first?
LBM January 2017 £34k will have paid back finally by my DFD May 2021
got my first store card on my 18th birthday, never known a life without the grey cloud of debt looming over me. 18yrs and the end is finally in sight 🤩
  • Hi everyone and welcome to notechno and Angela 84 good luck both with your goals.

I'm on 13/31 now although can't say that I'm feeling much better in the mornings for it yet.

Maybe I won't as I work shifts and really unsocial hours - on call overnight.

Please could I join this challenge? I have read through all the posts from #1 and found them all to be very encouraging. I wouldn't have said previously that I had a drink problem but I certainly enjoy a drink and dread the nights I know I can't.

However, I have manahed 8 days so far this is my 8th day on the run and I hope to get to the end of Jan alcohol free! BUT (and its a big BUT) I am very P$*%£d off with H2B as he was supposed to be doing dry January with me and hes bottled it on the first weekend and already planned two nights out! Grrr! I'm doing it to lose weight, feel healthy but more so to allow us to manage our money more effectively and put more money towards our wedding fund - so at the moment he is well and truly in my bad books as I feel like I'm going it alone, budgeting, being healthy AND having a dry January.

We went out for a family members birthday on Saturday night - I drove so that I wasn't tempted to drink and he and his Mum laughed at me all night saying I was boring and cracking jokes about me not drinking.

SO I'm hoping I can get the support I need from you guys! PLEASE!! I've been doing the WW diet too for a week and its my first weigh in tomorrow so if I lose weight I feel like laughing in his face and saying 'ha! now who's laughing'. :rotfl:
