10/31 for me - been busy day but pleased that i have made it througha nother weeked (nearly!!) with no alcohol - could kick myself for drinking on Thurs! but whats done is done! Just hope i can sleep tonight - still struggling with this! Dunno if it is related to stopping the alcohol or whether I was using the alcohol to help me sleep!0

No more AF days to report here, but just thought I'd share the film me and DH watched tonight. 'Flight' with Denzel Washington. Completely not what I was expecting, but very thought provoking on the alcohol front. Def worth a watch if you haven't seen it.LBM Dec 10. 1 more AFD. Beautiful morning here. Shame I have to do some work from home today.
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

Definitely no getting shouted at on here!:)
I find it best to keep reading/posting regularly. I do a similar thing to you in that I buy in the amount of wine I plan to drink in a week. If I was stupid enough to drink it all on the first night then I definitely wouldn't buy any more. I could fall back on the sherry/spirits etc in the cupboard but I know I won't.
I'm on a measly two as well. Promised myself I will do better next week.
I do keep reading, it's just the posting I don't do: thinking of changing my username to "Lurkio"!I don't know what's up with me. Didn't learn my lesson from earlier on in the week and had far too much to drink last night. No wonder I'm ill today.

Some professionals etc., don't like the word "try". They quote Yoda: "Do or not do, there is no try!", in their zeal they seem to forget that to think of trying is to mean that you want to do something at some level, however weak/fretful/fearful you feel: surely it's one of the first steps?
Anyway, I am trying to not drink for an extended period now, and have so far managed 4/15, please Shaggy.
Good luck and well done to all us triers and succeeders!0 -
I do like this getting up and getting the best part of the day when you're not hung over.:j
I'm with gwithbag about those all or nothing mantras. Now I'm a huge fan of all those trite and hoary sayings you get from the internet, and it's sub folder Pinterest. Mostly because they're true. But ones like the one mentioned above and I think , 'oh get over yourself.'0 -
Can I join please - even though I am a little late?
I have been doing this myself but would love to join a thread which keeps a track of how many days I have done and its nice to know that I have company and support along the way.
I went on holiday for a couple of weeks last year and didn't drink once. When I came back people commented how clear my skin was and how I looked like I had lost weight. I don't think I had lost weight, just the bloat associated with drinking. Unfortunately the bloat has returned.
If I am allowed to join I would like to report 5 alcohol free days so far.One debt in 100 days £384/1264(£865 left)Pay all your debt off by xmas 2014 £276/18864NSD 4 and 4 in a row0 -
