Welcome back ManPants from me too.
Shaggy, could I please have a goal of 21 for August.0 -
Welcome back manpants! A very unusual way to drink less.
12/18 for me today. After food instead of slumping drunkenly on the sofa we went for a walk. It was a lovely evening and I'm glad I was sober to have the motivation to get out and see it.
Ever so tired today. First day back at work after a week off so doubly tough.
Shaggy, please could I have a target of 18 in August.0 -
Thank you for all the welcome backs :-)
I've noticed Mackeroo hasn't posted in as long as me. I hope she is okay.
Last customer left tonight at 23.45 so instead of having a very large glass of wine or 2 and drinking it like water then going to bed squiffy at 1am, I've come up straight to bed and am calling in 3 AF including tonight.
This morning I was up at 07.30am getting the beer garden sorted before deliveries started and I was clear headed too which was great. Seems such a simple recipe really. Don't drink alcohol and you feel physically better and are more productive yet I'm so often drawn to what destroys that.
I'm still reading through the old posts. I'm on Christmas week now :-)
One thing I've seriously noticed is a common thread is that of weight gain or loss for a lot of people.
Alcohol of course impinges on that too. I can eat healthily all day, even go to the gym and then at night time (4 double gins later) i'm eating 3 packets of Monster Munch and picking at hams in the fridge after slapping piccalilli over them! Finish off with a packet of pick n mix.

Morning all, 22/21 for me please.0

I've put on too much weight over the last year - over a stone
- not sure why - but I've just started to up my exercise over the last week - and I probably need to keep away from chocolate and cheese too!
Good Luck with the diets everyone.
I won't be starting the chocolate-less-ness regime until after tomorrow, but I've cut cheese out comletely already because, as it turns out, my weight hasn't stabilized after all. Ooops.
*Swift fatbusting* vibes for everyone who wants to lose a pound or two.Last customer left tonight at 23.45 so instead of having a very large glass of wine or 2 and drinking it like water then going to bed squiffy at 1am, I've come up straight to bed and am calling in 3 AF including tonight.

It seems so obvious once we've managed to find a way of cutting down, or giving up, whatever floats your boat. How I managed to allow myself to keep drinking for as long as I did I don't know, but I'd far rather live like this than go back to the way it was before.
As to eating, oh boy! Yes. Late night munchies, and then after a heavy night, a recovery breakfast .... I put on a stone after I stopped smoking about 10 years ago and I've never really shifted it, although I've found out what works for me if I can stick to it, so I'm still tinkering around within that limit. There is absolutely no doubt that the single biggest favour most of us could do ourselves is shift a few pounds but it's been a constant battle since I stopped smoking. Having stopped drinking at least it seems to be more under control but it's never going to be easy.
25/31 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -
14/12 for today please Shaggy0

Sorry for being absent, I've had a horrible bout of flu. That's been pretty good for my AF days though! Happy to report I'm at 13 / 16 days for July so far.
Hope everyone else is well and has avoided the lurgies going round at the moment.
Aiming for 21 AF days for August.Make up to £10 a day

Its probably lack of exercise with me - but I've managed to exercise for the last 6 days in a row - and I feel really fit so even though I've put on weight I don't feel unfit/unhealthy. I've really enjoyed working out as well - I just need to prioritize it. I will let you know how it goes....:DWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
