So rather than feel bad about missing my 2017 target I propose to step up and actually make this happen instead.

Shaggy please put me down for 1/18 as I'm declaring early for today. AFDs - gotta catch em all. :) I am also going to post on here every day in the rest of July even if I'm not AF.

    Time to try something different.

I think that's absolutely the right approach:
If what you're doing isn't working, change what you're doing

Someone very sensible suggested that to me a few years ago, and when I remember it, it always works! (The biggest problem with new year's resolutions which is when most people try this, is that we go large - the smallest changes in our behaviour are often much more effective.)

So, for instance, when I stopped drinking I borrowed a big pile of books from the library (normal behaviour) and went to bed straight after dinner, so about 8.45 pm (the changed behaviour) and read until I switched the light out (normal behaviour). Very effective way of skipping the temptation to sip a glass of vino while watching TV.

There is temptation though,an open bottle of wine in my fridge with only 1 glass out of it. It's going to be winking at me. Not sure what to do with it. Will it keep if I can ignore it till next Friday?

Probably not, if you find it tempting and normally give in to that temptation. I'd freeze it and use it to make a fabulous risotto at a later date. Or just have the risotto tonight.

    How's it going Smiley 77?

    3/31 please, Shaggy.

    Hello all.
I've only managed one so far and a bit annoyed really.
I opened a bottle of wine Saturday but it tasted horrid so I put it down the sink.
Then Sunday 2 drinks with friend.
    Today AF 1/25
But tommorow and Wednesday will be in pub and probably drinking. So will have used 4 of my 6 days already.

Must remember this week to keep within limits, keep my memory and not turn into a drunken Moron. Also keep safe coming home and not do anything silly and stay sensible.
2017- 5 credit cards plus loan
Overdraft And 1 credit card paid off.

Morning all, 2/21 for me please.

CuppaTea, just a thought, could you eliminate temptation by freezing the wine to use for future cooking purposes? Always useful, can be thawed and then refrozen and it's no temptation to drink it once it's been frozen because it doesn't taste as good.

Too late I drunk it last night. But thanks for the suggestion.
