We tend to view drink as a help but really it doesn't help at all.

The trouble is, when people are tense and they have a drink they feel instantly relaxed. If we could stop after that one drink it wouldn't be a problem. My problem was that I could never stop after one. Because of that, you're abosolutely right, it doesn't help.
This month is helping me a lot. Although I did feel like a drink today, asked my friend but she was busy, came home and felt like a glass making dinner with music playing but somehow made it. Although as above it may have been different if said friend had been free so can't congratulate myself too much.

I'm so glad this month is helping you. Every drink you don't have is a step in the right direction once we've realised that drinking has become problematic. I'm really, really pleased for you.

I'm finally on 7/17. I was round a friends early eve and she cracked open a bottle and offered me a glass. I had a cuppa in my hand so declined. And even though wavered at one point, I didn't want to start. My rationale was I mucked up Tuesday so if I do it again today then I'll feel I need to make up for it over the weekend. I'm now thinking I should only drink on one day but can't decide which. I also thought if I have one at hers I'll want more when I get home. I had another friend popping by at 7pm and didn't want to be p*ssed.

So pleased to be report a clear head in the morning. I need to check my calendar to ensure the 17 is still possible.

This'll sound a bit basic, but if you don't have the first, the rest aren't a problem! It took me a long time to work that one out, and I have absolutely no idea why. Good on you Cuppa Tea.

Sorry to hear you're feeling a tad carp again FPT. The chances are you've been feeling great so you've done a lot more than you usuallly do and ... you've tired yourself out. Don't expect too much of yourself today, drink a lot of tea or water and look forward to feeling perky again tomorrow or the next day. Well done on the 11, but the way.

    12/31 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.

Thanks HB. Wise words as usual. What I can't figure out is why I caved on Tuesday when I had to defrost the wine to drink it, yet when it was under my nos on offer yesterday, I resisted. Oh well....

Thanks Honey Bear. I think it's this B12 thing. I've had 3 injections and I'm realising that I feel good around 12 hours afterwards, and then on the run up to getting the next one I feel really dreadful. I'm having another one at 4pm which is good. What's scaring me is that there's only 2 left after today, and I'm worried that I'm going to continue being up and down. The doctors don't seem to take this problem very seriously at all and it was a fight just to get the treatment I'm receiving now, despite there being a history of it in the family.
I think I should just take your advice on living in the moment for now though, there's no point trying to predict how I'll feel in a week's time.

Going to attempt the first Friday in a long time AF, probably going to bed early with a good book. It'll be worth it to be hangover free on Saturday.
