What a lovely place the thread has been this week.
HB 1,000 days is amazing!
Shaggy, plus 1 for me last Monday so 8/14 please. I would like to set a target of 14 in May.0 -

Also positive I have stuck to my healthy vegan eating and am still walking the dog for between 1 hour to 3 hours a day and feeling the benefits.
Just so annoyed I let one stupid thing dictate my whole mood when there is so much to be thankful for and going well.
Have been catching up on missed posts and lovely to see the diversity of everyone's lives with dates, work, pets etc. Really have missed being here and even if it's only to post that I have not been AF every day, I should still stick at it!
I didn't realise you fostered dogs Green Karen - good on you. I was a disaster at it so I stick with adopting Oldies instead. I'd always rather have one that's been fostered because I always get such helpful information about them prior to taking them home and it's so much better for them while they're looking for their forever home. Lovely that you got a visit, too.
I prefer to think we're expressing gratitude rather than being mushy, Shaggy but each to their own!
I hope the headache clears Scatterbrain. It may be a withdrawal headache, but it's always worth ringing NHS Direct (or whatever they call themselves these days) before you overload your system with any more of a pain relief cocktail if it carries on.
How did you end up spending the evening, Pollyanna? Virtuously with an exhausted dog or doggedly working your way through a bottle with an attack of the guilts this morning? Either way I hope you enjoyed it while it was happening.
Thanks for the congrats on the 1,000 days WBF. I typed a long post last week about something and lost it but as part of it I wanted to put in a link to Belle's blog, Tired of Thinking About Drinking which is why I noticed I was on her list. It came as a complete surprise as I've sort of forgotten to count the days after Day 500.
28/30 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -
The reason I put so much effort into this thread is because I love it, it helps me sooooo much and I love everyone who contributes to it
And we are a mushy bunch!!!!
Indeed we are but it's a good, warm feeling. Being supportive of each other is positive and I often think about my virtual friends. I don't think it's odd at all.
:T on your 1000 days HB, that's a brilliant achievement.:A
I amazed myself by getting an AF night in yesterday. It was surprisingly difficult as I had planned on a drink but getting to target was a stronger pull. We went to the opera and, although I wasn't driving, I was determined not to have pre-theatre or interval drinks as planned. I decided that eating out first wasn't necessary (I ate far too much over Easter:o) and I don't really enjoy necking a glass in the interval or drinking from a plastic cup so I just went without. It also meant I didn't fall asleep during the performance so a win all round.:)
10 AFDs please Shaggy.
I know June is going to be a difficult month (I'm on holiday for 3 weeks) so I want to do well in May. My plan is to get at least 20 days in across the two months so the more I can bank in May the better.:)0 -
Congratulations from me on 1,000 days too, Honey Bear - well done you. Actually I think one of the best things about it is that after a time you stopped counting
Maman, I used to go to the opera a lot, absolutely love it, but it was costing me quite a bit once I added up the ticket, a couple of glasses of champagne and usually some nibblies or food, and I am trying to save money, so it is one of the things I have put a stop to for now, but I miss it.0 -

This was Welsh National but on provincial tour it's vastly cheaper than Covent Garden although £45 is enough! We met a neighbour who'd paid just £9 for the gods as he was more interested in the music than a good view of the stage. Another idea is live screenings at the cinema. There's one next month we might go to.0 -

I do like live screenings at the cinema and they are a lot cheaper. I wish opera houses would make productions available to download on a "rent or buy" basis as some cinemas and Amazon and the BBC are doing. I'd go for that. £45 isn't bad for the opera. I know people who fork out a few hundred for every visit!0 -
18/23 not very pleased with this really.
