I held back from posting yesterday as wasn't sure whether I'd feel the need to 'celebrate' the Bank Holiday.:o

Fortunately I didn't so May got off to a good start. I'm out tonight but driving so confident I can call early:

    2 AFDs please Shaggy.

    Hi All

I was away to the caravan all weekend & done terrible, drank every night & far too much again :o:o. I want to reach my target this month so going to be realistic & declare 14 for May, I am off to NYC on Monday so that is factored into that total. If I achieve that I will be over the moon.

Can I join you, please? I would really like to give up alcohol altogether (for the sake of my weight and health). I start off Ok but find it hard to keep it going. Ideally I'd like to aim for alcohol free days for the whole of May.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

 hi TF. You're very welcome. This is a great thread. I used it to get my drinking under control before I started weightloss as I knew one would prevent the other. That was years ago and I still use it to keep me in check. Now I have some AF days and drink less on the others.

You're being very ambitious going for a completely alcohol free month but good luck to you!:)

I made 10 days in April, sorry, haven’t been on to log my progress.

I did end up drinking on Thursday, tut tut, but I didn’t on Saturday which is virtually unheard of for me! I made the decision to drive my parents to bingo (rather than bussing it). In my head I was saying that I could have a couple when I got home, but by then it was 9.45pm and I made the decision to just not bother, hurray!

Aiming for 12 for May. Planning on not drinking at least Mon-Wed in each week.

    So far I have 1/12.
Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
    Mortgages (End 2017) - £180,235.03
    (End 2021) - £131,215.25 DID IT!!!
    (End 2022) - Target £116,213.81
  • Welcome to the thread TF

As suspected, the doctor confirmed I have a B12 deficiency today. She said it wasn't horrendous but before I went I had prepared myself by reading around the subject, and the short version is that the threshold for deficiency is recognised as far too low by various B12 societies. I have also learnt that aside from the well known general fatigue type symptoms, it can cause all sorts of neurological and mood problems, (including anxiety and depression) as well as gastrointestinal problems. So... if anyone has an ailment that they're not sure about, then right now I'm your woman! :rotfl:

I have a feeling I may have a fight on my hands getting the doctor fully on board, but she has at least agreed to some B12 injections to get my topped up, with an extra test to check whether it's an autoimmune problem or not.

Sorry for the long irrelevant waffle, but I guess I feel that cutting down my alcohol is a health issue so this is sort of related for me, and I've already bored everyone around me with it. :D

Excuse any typos... I'm having bad brain fog and I don't seem to be able to write as well as usual.

    2/25for tonight please!
