    Morning!

First a belated "Happy Birthday" to maman, doing the usual blokey bit of sending you a virtual bunch of flowers from the virtual petrol station!

In the meantime, declaring even earlier today, so make it 5/14 for tonight please Shaggy! Thanks.

    Happy belated birthday Maman!

I'm having a really good holiday with friends so I have no more AF days to add, but I don't feel as if I've been completely out of control or silly.

I have another couple of days left here and then it's back to normal.
    Trying to keep in budget.

Hope you had a great birthday maman.

    9 AF days Shaggy
  • No drinks for me Tuesday \ Wednesday takes me to 8/15

Have to make target by 22nd, as I'm off on holiday and whilst I will try, and AFD's while away are unlikely.

Wow - what a thought provoking sentence... This is absolutely what I need to do! I have recently thought, after 2 glasses of wine, I could stop now but I almost feel obligated to finish the bottle and [STRIKE]sometimes[/STRIKE] often, that leads to opening bottle number 2  If I just stopped when I get that feeling... Shaggy's STOP button... then I would be drinking moderately! Light bulb moment!!! Thank you :)

Don't worry fruball, that moment will come. My habits used to be exactly like yours but over time my tolerance has dropped so I know I'm either going to be silly, sleepy or hungover or probably all three so I stop and have a hot drink.

Thank you all so much for the good wishes yesterday. I had a great time with friends and family and much bubbly and wine but certainly no drinking to oblivion as I might have done previously.

I'm off out today too which will probably involve a meal but I'm determined to be AF so water and coffee for me. I'm calling now before I can go out and change my mind.;)

Wahh - this thread has made me shiver. I enjoy a beer or two (or three or four) on an evening, and considerably more on a weekend! I have tried the alcohol free days but then my sleep becomes interrupted and I'm grumpy the next day...I do stick to less (two-four cans of lager) during the working week though and don't find it inhibits my performance at all...

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
