I heard an interesting discussion on the radio last night. Happened to be about nutrition (changing to healthy eating) but could just as easily be about AF. Gist of is was people beating themselves up about craving and falling off the wagon. The message from the 'expert' was cut yourself some slack, be kinder to yourself, you're not going to get a life changing decision 100% right all in one go. So true.

Funnily enough I was 'gifted' exactly the same message last night. On Tuesdays, I attend a practical philosophy class which is all about living a happier life. Of course this involves a deep understanding of yourself and changing old habits. If I tried to change my whole personality in one fell swoop, I would be doomed to failure.
And exactly as you say maman, it can't happen in one go, or else we wouldn't be using this forum

I'm hoping to be AF from 19-28 Feb. The first half of the month has been quite heavy and some social in the middle. Then nothing social in the Calender so very hopeful this pans out.

  • Good morning everyone, I haven't been here since late January. At that point I had just been discharged from hospital having tested in conclusively for sub arachnoid haemorrhage.
I went to my GP on Monday 30th and she sent me straight back to the GP referral unit at the hospital.
While there I had a seizure and my 8 day old headache was finally taken seriously.
After several days of prodding, poking and scanning I was finally diagnosed with lateral venous-sinus thrombosis - basically blood clots in my brain.
I am now home on morphine and warfarin both of which are incompatible with alcohol.

Shaggydoo, can you close me off on January with 30 days please and 8/28 for February.
I'm on warfarin for at least 2 years so looks like I will be off the sauce for a while.

I'll go back several pages and see what I have missed since 29th.

    Jo xx
