I realise that I was using booze to damp down these sorts of feelings rather than use the anxiety and stress reduction techniques that actually work and keep working!
I did eat a generous slice of cake mind you, but one habit at a time!
When I listed three things in my last post that might be the reason anyone would have the first drink of the day I wasn't really thinking, but picking the three obvious ones that most people assume are the reasons we drink. I think you're right on the button with this, No Superwoman. I think the reasons we drink are as varied as we are as people, and supressing feelings, wanting to relax, wanting to feel sociable or any other 'want' are all triggers.
I think a generous slice of cake is the perfect answer - it tops up your sugar levels, feels naughty and self-indulgent and is luscious in it's own right. Well, it should be - I chuck out substandard cakes and biscuits and replace them with stuff I really, really enjoy eating. If I'm going to be dealing with the aftermath I'm going to enjoy it while I'm doing the damage.
And you're absolutely right - one addiction at a time. The sugar thing can wait.Funny as when I'm not drinking I'm really not bothered ! I think ,, well actually I know one day I will totally AF ! And won't miss it !

Hi Heath! I totally agree and am amazed that I managed to make the move from being a drinker to not doing so. No-one's more suprised than me, even now.

ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0
