Hope the run went well Barny. Seems your health issues are all sorted now.:)
Poorsinglelady, I knew if I was going to lose weight I'd have to keep high calorie things to occasional treats and drinking wine every day wasn't occasional. So, like HB said I cut back the wine first to weekends only. Then I joined Slimming World and put the healthy eating plan into practice. I got to the weight I wanted and have stayed there for 5+years.
I'm hoping for a good week, starting today.
2 AFDs please Shaggy.0 -
I gave in to temptation on Friday night after getting an unexpected evening off work, I did notice it was harder to get out of bed the next day compared to the mornings after the AF nights before!...
Am declaring early for today so am 5/25 so far this month - thanks Shaggy0 -

Only you can answer that Lovesale, but I'd hazard a guess that it could possibly be boredom, habit or addiction. It might be worth thinking about what the steps were that made taking the first mouthful possible. At some point you made the decision to buy the alcohol, either buying it yesterday or before yesterday, and then you made the decision to go and get it, pour it out (or drink it straight from the bottle or can) and take the first mouthful. Each of those steps involved making quite a few decisions, so if you can break it down to the one when it became inevitable, you can then think about what led to that particular decision.
In my case I drank every evening with my evening meal. If I could avoid taking the first sip of the first drink which was always at 8.00pm, I was fine and I could do it. There was that 15 minute window each evening that was the tough habit to break, the rest was a breeze in comparison.
Whatever your trigger, I hope you can find it because it makes getting drinking under control much easier. In my case I found it was fairly straightforward to get through twenty-three hours and forty-five minutes every day without alcohol without too much bother, it was just that 15 minutes that was the problem so that was what I worked on.
6/28 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -

Afternoon :hello:
1 more AFD for yesterday.
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
