  • LUCY ,, that is really cruel that your weight or sleep didn't have a more positive reaction to you not drinking , my sleep does tend to get better , but I do have strange dreams!!!
POOR SINGLE ,,,oh you sound just like me ,, I could have written your post myself,, I find driving helps , if I drive I won't drink ,, or telling people I'm on anti biopics for some thing usually shuts them up on the persistent ,,,why aren't you drinking ,,,,,,
Funny thing is , after a AF night out I feel good about myself and don't feel that I missed out , more that I have gained a AF day and no hangover to look forward to !!

I obv had an AF day yesterday. Today we did our big food shop and the only booze which went in the trolley was a teensy bottle of red and one of marsala - both for cooking, not drinking.

To be fair, its not putting booze in the trolley which is the problem, its when I go out. Thankfully we actually have nothing in the diary for the next few weeks (in fact months!)

  • Af last night and will be tonight, so 4/28 please.

Week off work after tonight, plenty to be getting on with to keep me occupied. It'll actually get done this week, instead of spending 7 nights drinking into the early hours.

2/TH for yesterday. My cousin had a baby girl, which ordinarily would've been a good excuse for a glass of something to toast her arrival, but no! I stayed strong. *smug smile*

Congratulations, Dizzy, on the safe arrival of your new niece and well done for not popping a cork to celebrate.

i'm back after a massive fall from grace last night. This really has to stop. We are going to start trying for a baby soon. So, I am now going completely AF. That is IT!

Please put me down for 26/28 shaggy as I had 1 drink weds night (which was fine) and as drank stupid amounts last night (being sick this morning) I won't manage 28!

Good luck with it, Lulabelle. Would it help you break the habit of over-indulging sometimes if you did some background reading of the research on foetal alcohol syndrome, or would you find that too much? I didn't go looking for it, but came across quite a bit about it when I did a lot of reading about giving up drinking and was really, really saddened by it.

    4/28 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.
  • 3/28 for me as of last night. Didn't go to the shops yesterday or today. Am home in front of the TV at the moment with OH (my wife - sorry for any confusion). She started on the beer at about 11 and us being 'jolly' which is even more annoying when I'm sober! I am a bit bored and tempted to go up the garage for a bottle of wine. I don't really want to though so I am resisting.

hey hb, just looked at this but seems to suggest its only if drinking during pregnancy. Once we actually start trying (we haven't yet) or I am pregnant I wouldn't touch a drop.

Ooh, good luck Barny - I'll be cheering you on from the sofa!

Not AF tonight but it is my first glass of wine this year, which I am very pleased about.

  • 4/28 AFDs managed to delay until the rain started and now it's too late to go out for wine.
Lulabelle - I bet there are articles about alcohol and infertility out there if you want some incentive!
