I find drinking a soft drink , flavoured sparkling water or soda and lime in a wine does the trick!!:money: I will never be rich but I'm happy :rotfl:0

Unlike most on here, I quite enjoy the Sainsburys AF sparkling white wine and I have stocked up with 2 more bottles for the remaining weekends in January. It is getting easier as the month progresses, but Fridays are definitely the most difficult time for me (end-of-week treat), followed by Saturday night when we normally go out to eat. I've been having 2 glasses (half the bottle) of AF wine on Friday and 2 on Saturday. Part of me is thinking that I am fooling myself (by pretending I am still having wine) and it won't help me get out of the habit, but part of me says "well if it works, then all good". Not sure which is right!
Last time I did Dry January (2 years ago) I went straight back into my old drinking habits, not sure what will happen this time. I want to stay AF Mon-Thur every week that's for sure. Maybe I will try for Sun-Thur insteadWhat goes around comes around.....I hope!0 -
Declaring very early today as I'm up at 4:30am tomorrow for the weekly stupid o'clock Wednesday commute to Milton Keynes, not even slightly tempted by booze tonight which is nice. Tomorrow evening when I'm stuck in a stranger's airbnb might be a different story though...

Hello All. Please Can i ask if i may- how people find socialising without a drink. To me its quite alien and sounds a lot like hard work. If i am truly honest i kind of think i don't have the best social skills And drinking helps. I imagine AF socialising to be quite draining. I mean in a group situation or work/group situation. Is there a strategy that people adopt to tackle this. I would be interested to know. Thank you.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan
