5/22 please
I have 1 friend doing dry Jan which helps. And 2 friends not able to drink due to meds. This helps ease the pressure a bit.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan
Overdraft And 1 credit card paid off.

8/30 please Shaggy
I remember when I first came on here a year or two ago - with a different username I would set a target of 7 for a month and be polishing my halo if I made 3,
As they say at weight watchers, you only fail when you give up so just keep trying to clock up as many AF days as you can, every little helps - both the liver and the wallet.
Have a good sleep everyone and I'll be back tomorrow

I do understand where Green Karen is coming from it could be quite daunting for a new addition to the thread to see how well some of us manage alcohol intake. However with respect, the majority of us probably started out with no AF days and some still find this difficult, so therefore any low or AF days are a bonus. Keep going GK as some is better then none!
Update DH is on day 3 of no booze, it may not last, but I am soooo pleased.
I'm so pleased about your OH, Arkers!
It's always daunting when you're newish to a group that's been running a while, and that's also true of people returning and rejoining after a break - everyone seems to have moved on so much it seems impossible to catch up, so to speak.
For my own part, if I could do Dry January and then allow myself to go back to drinking, and set myself a realistic target of seven AF days a month I'd be very happy indeed. The reality is I never, ever managed that many and although the last 10 years of drinking were the problem that made me give up, in the 10 years before that if I regularly managed one AF day a month I'd be surprised.
10/31 please Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -

I quite agree Arkers - I was on this thread a couple of years ago and usually managed to meet my monthly target of 10. I then went AWOL for a while and my AFD's went a bit AWOL too. I admire those of you that are doing January but I know that it is not for me - I am happy to be in control of my drinking now - my target varies from 12 to 14 and I do sometimes go past those totals
. The main thing is I am now making conscious decisions about what days I drink and how much I have on the days I do. Stick with it GK - you are doing fine and as Arkers says any low or AF days are a bonus :T
