.....hello, a small additional post. Only just registered the year total. Think I'd like to go TF and just manage month to month. Regarding the comments on those that smash their targets and beyond, I do understand where Green Karen is coming from it could be quite daunting for a new addition to the thread to see how well some of us manage alcohol intake. However with respect, the majority of us probably started out with no AF days and some still find this difficult, so therefore any low or AF days are a bonus. Keep going GK as some is better then none!
Update DH is on day 3 of no booze, it may not last, but I am soooo pleased.

I am doing Dry January, and I also did it last year, but boy was it hard. Much, much harder than this year, because a year ago, my drinking was excessive. It took me most of last year to get a real grip on it and that was due to the support on this thread. Nobody ever chastised or criticised me if I had a blip - there was just understanding and encouragement to jump back on the wagon. So Green Karen, don't feel disheartened, or a lightweight. Feel proud of yourself. You're doing great :T

9/31 for me please. I'd echo what everyone else says - I joined this thread towards the end of last year and don't really want to never drink at all but understand that others do feel they want to remain AF. I was encouraged by comments about each day I was AF - always good. I'm doing dry January because I hope it's good for my health but don't intend to remain dry- just want to be a little more in control and not so habituated to drinking every night. So Green Karen be proud of what you have achieved - I think a target of 10 is a goood one.0
