Good luck with it, Roland, and lovely to see you back. Research has shown that we are often more successful if we focus on one change at a time, so if you find your weight stays the same or you put on a pound or two while you're knocking the drinking on the head please don't be too downhearted. It does all fall into place but sometimes it takes a bit longer than we'd first anticipated to turn the juggernaut around - just slowing it down would be a great start, wouldn't it?
Thanks HB, definately good advice. The weight loss is more a secondary effect hopefully, of stopping drinking.
To help it along though, I've made a couple of changes to my eating habits as well. Replacing pies, pastries or the chip shop for lunch at work with something taken from home, and fruit instead of crisps or sweets.

That's me 2/30, sitting having a nice cup of tea.

Everyone seems full of good resolve. Makes for lovely reading. Hoping January is a good month for us all.
Live for the moment and plan for the future
  • I made a conscious decision to finish an open bottle of Prosecco on 1st Jan, as it would have been thrown away, so I am doing 2nd Jan to 2nd Feb for my dry January and it means my revised target will be 30 for Jan.

2/30 for me please Shaggy.....determined, but weekends will be the hardest!
What goes around comes around.....I hope!
  • Good luck to Elusive Lucy and all the other dry January folks.
