    Hello All,

Really glad to find this thread :D

Can I set a March target of 16 days (I might make it to 18 but in all honesty if I manage 16 I'll be happy) I've got a holiday and my birthday to contend with this month :p

    Well done everyone :D:T:D:T

I'm getting overweight too MAman, and what's killing me is that I look just like my Mum looked at my age - thing is, I remember her as being old and out of shape and frumpy (the cruel eyes of youth) and I don't want to be or fell like that.

So, maybe now that the alcohol is more under control (I won't say under control because that would be tempting fate) I need to face up to shifting some fat.
I kind of start half heartedly and then just lapse back into eating total and utter carp. I have started running again but really I need to be eating much healthier food to make a difference. I know what I should and shouldn't be eating but just cannot get it together to be bothered (that sound bad now I've written it).

I'm 45 in a week's time and I just keep hearing 'fat, fair, forty'

Good to know we are doing our bit for the elderly on here, gien and debjay!:rotfl::rotfl:

Seriously, if you find an organised challenge helps you achieve a goal then I've heard good things about myfitnesspal. AFAIK that sort of trades exercise with calorie intake to help you lose weight. Personally I'm a Slimming World convert which surprisingly isn't a faddy diet at all just common sense and healthy eating if you can get past the happy clappy element.

All this talk of birthdays (mine's next week too), makes me wonder if there's some link with 'drinking like a fish'.;)

Sending you a big hug stupotstu :A

I'm definitely getting started on my March total today.

    1 AF please Shaggy.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Hi all can I join in please? I have read pretty much the whole thread and am in awe of your achievements.

Dh and I have been SNC people for quite a while but when we do drink we are tending to drink more which is leading to some problems. Dh seems unconcerned but I am suffering terribly with hangovers on Sat/Sun and Mon which impacts on our time with the kids :( (and Mon at work). We are also starting to row more :()

I was always a lager drinker but since having kids (10 and 8) and drinking at home rather than in the pub I have drank wine. I have decided to switch back to lager and only drink wine with food (rarely do this at home).

Shaggy can you sign me up for 15 AF days in march please.
You folk seem so nice and supportive and Shaggy does such a great job that I'm sure I can get back on track with your help.

Popping in to declare 2/22 please shaggy,

Welcome scatty spice, you are right, the people here are lovely and supportive, stick with us and you'll be alright!

Maman, I like slimming world on the whole and I lost weight after my first 2 children at group, but there isn't a group here. I still have a lot of magazines and recipes as I subscribed a couple of years ago to the online version but didn't feel it was as good as a group.
I do need to find some motivation to cut back a bit and SW is really very healthy so maybe I should give it another try.
    Trying to keep in budget.

1/24 AFDs to start me off for March, despite wine demons telling me I deserved a drink after learning our flat purchase has fallen through, just weeks before moving-date.

DH and I spent the last few hours deliberating over the viability of buying a flat sight unseen in the next block (4 flats to each block, 3 blocks grouped around a garden, overlooking a cricket field).

The outcome of our delibeerations is that we'll make a flying visit tomorrow (400 mile round trip), with a pit-stop at mumsie's before putting in our offer. The flat hasn't yet had it's spec sheet written up yet.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
