Morning all! It's 7/15 for me today and not just that, I've also reached 100 AFDs out of my target for this year of 200, so am officially half-way through!!!!! :j :A Hurrah!!
Hugely well done, CathyBird, especially as you've reached your halfway point earlier than halfway through the year.
Ah, Dizzy, how could anyone resist? It's not like you've taken the pledge, is it? Come on, don't be so hard on yourself. You already know that the minute you poured yourself the first glass you were going to indulge both vices, so I honestly think that the best way forward is to allow yourself to be human, in other words, be a little self-indulgent sometimes without beating yourself up.
I've just scoffed four biscuits and on MOnday and Tuesday I scoffed a (for me) small bar of chocolate. I think we all need something to enjoy.
Good to see you again already, LotsToGain and well done on racking up the numbers. It gets easier the more you practice staying sober, I promise.
I wouldn't want it any other way now, but I totally understand why giving up completely seems completely impossible to most people. It was for me for the decade after I realised I probably had drink problem before I knocked it on the head, and if I could have found yet another way to try to moderate I'd still be drinking. Which would be a waste of my life, basically.
