I bought an android tablet off amazon. It was OK to start with but quickly developed a fault where the screen would ghost when the power was low. I tried to ignore it to start with but it got worse. Recent reviews suggested lots of people had the same issue. I was thinking I must get on and return it when I dropped the ruddy thing and cracked the screen. Do I have any rights?

Does it still do the ghost thing? I'll be honest I'm not sure of your exact rights here but I'd guess you could ask them to repair the ghost problem but leave the screen.
What do you mean by ghost btw? Could it be that it went "dim"? This us a battery saving feature which can be turned off in most devices in the settings (unless this isn't what you mega by ghost)Hi. I know that a lot of repair companies will refuse to do any repairs of mobile phones that have cracked screens unless the screen is replaced first (either by them or by a different company) so I wouldn't be surprised in tablets are treated the same way.
The do this for a couple of reasons.
A cracked screen could injure someone working on the unit, and having it cracked could make complete testing of the item hard or impossible following the work that they carried out.0 -
Not to mention the fact that they will say the screen is only faulty because you dropped it, little to no chance of a fix on this one.0

Yes that's what I was thinking bris.
The tablet is still usable despite the crack, and the ghosting still happens.
By ghosting I mean the screen moves around on it's own, zooms in and out, clicks on things, as if a ghost were using it. It's very annoying!0
