You just have to feel for these people.
In part you want to condemn them. Parts make you laugh and then cry.
But then there is the sadness. The hopelessness of the situation. Of parents parted from their children and trying against all odds to overcome their particular situation so that they can just see them again.0 -

Just wondering what's in the 50 gallon drum?.
One thing that gets me is how the landlords fail to repair their properties. Funghi's house dosn't even have a functioning bath. This sort of bad landlord is dealt with very swiftly down were I live. Apparently, the Conservative Party donor who owns Funghi's house (and one other) has a reputation of not keeping his properties maintained.Never Knowingly Understood.

I'm not surprised the Fungi lives in a house like that, its a bloody mess. No hand basin, well there is one but off the wall, bath got lots of other things in it. I bet that house was not like that when he moved in. It's like a doss house, with writing all over the wall's and doors.
If I was the landlord I would get in there and evict them all, but then again if the landlord is not repairing fixtures and fittings even though Fungi probably broke them when high or drunk, he still gets his rent from the DWP - easy money no fuss.0 -
A friend of mine and his partner and son lived in a private rent where the LL refused to carry out repairs. They ended-up reporting her to the Council when she refused to fix the boiler when it packed-up. He was even in the local paper about it.
The Council sent round an inspector who condemned the whole property and gave the owner 28 days to fix it. The estimated cost was around the £2.5k. The LL refused to do the work, so the Council re-housed the tenants, sent a team in to do the repairs and promptly billed the LL for £3500. She refused to pay, so the Council took her to Court. She now has a bill of £6900 to pay.
Lesson there is - when the tenant reports the boiler is broken, get it fixed or the end result could be a bill you were not expecting.Never Knowingly Understood.

"As seen on TV!"
BTW, I recently saw someone in a hoodie that had emblazoned on the back, "As seen on CCTV". Now that's class!I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -
