    Good morning,

    Julie, thinking of you.

    Yvieblue, hugs.

    Glitterkitty, Happy. Birthday!

Thinking of all of you who have work today, hope it goes well.

Waved hubby off 1/2 hour ago, have sat with my light box on and meditated.

Redruby, the wardrobes sound lovely. Feel for your mum.

Yet another wet morning. Have the heated airer on to dry off towels that are needed constantly at the moment as rain water is leaking into the front bedroom. When it is dry we will need to investigate, but we think mortar needs to be replaced.

Got a large grocery shop coming today so must get a move on and make space for it all.

Annoyingly, my joints are playing up today so won't be able to do as much as I wish/need to.

Love reading all your posts, and thinking of you all. Especially those of you who are struggling and or unwell.

    Peony x

Ps. Hello Hilstep, I am not sure if we have met as I am a returnee poster, it is nice to see your post and glad to hear that you are feeling better. I will be thinking of you, especially on the 15th.

  • Good morning all.
    Gk happy birthday.
    Ttftm good luck today
    Hilstep hugs.

Late start on here today as back to work I went at 5.30. Already a hard day as had contractors meeting and on the first day they started with 'its gonna take longer than the 2 weeks we had planned' not a hope in hell I said the kids can't be affected cause you can't get work done on time so it looks like they will want to work sat as well. Not that it affects me cause security are there then anyway. Just don't like to be taken for a mug so soon put stroppy man in his place.
Weather is cold but bright and if that wind would drop off it would be nice out there.
Doing chicken pasta bake tonight with leftover chicken from yesterday and must sort the chicken stock out from the carcass.
Wm on and just a bit of tidying up to do as everyone has been pretty good at putting away after them.
Right better crack on as I go back to work this afternoon and I don't want to be rushing around at the last min.
Hugs to all in need xx
    Bright Blessings xx

    Morning all,

Hilstep so glad your back and feeling so much better. You have been missed.

Julie, thinking of you today. Hope all goes well.

    Glitterkitty have a fab birthday.

Another wet day here and windy too. I'm trying to pluck up enough courage to go outside and clean up after the girls but I keep putting it off. Usually when the weathers bad they 'go' close to the house which is good but not far from the front door unfortunately and I don't want the postie to get a surprise when he delivers my post.

Yesterday I bathed the 'Girls'. Lucy dog's white fur was going rather yellow and Millie dog looked as though she'd been dragged through a hedge backwards. They don't mind the baths but they aren't keen on the hairdryer. I have a couple of cute fluff balls now that smell a bit sweeter! Downside is, the usual extra amount of dog hairs I have to clean up once they have done their usual shake. A wet shake isn't so bad, its the dry ones that you have to watch as the dog hairs fly everywhere. Well at least they are clean dog hairs.

Not started on the housework yet either but I have had a bath.

Tea tonight will be .... haven't thought about that yet either.

    Someone wake me up please!

    Have a great day all.

    Morning All,

GKitty - enjoy your birthday treat!
TTFTM - hope all goes well for your settling in day.
Julie - hope op goes well.
Hilstep - glad to hear no surgery required and you are feeling so much more positive.

Have had my OH at Dr's this morning - she has laryngitis (sp). At least she won't be able to shout at me today! :rotfl:

SIL is having surgery today to deal with a ruptured disk, so all positive thoughts appreciated.

Have a good day everyone.

    Hi everyone,

TTFTM good luck today. Happy birthday glitterkitty. Hilstep, glad to see you back and so positive.

I had to take the car into the garage and walk back this morning, I called in to the local store to get carrots to go with the pork and apple casserole I got out of the freezer. I'm determined to have a frugal grocery month if nothing else (I dread to think what a new clutch will cost).

To that end, I am going to empty all my cupboards for a stock take and re-jig. I buy flour and sugar and end up with it stored in different places so I then forget and buy more. I'll report back if I find any extraordinary mountains of things, I'm hoping that I've not got too much out of date. Does anyone else find that using nuts before the sell by date is a problem? I also find that their taste goes off more quickly than other things so it's not possible to use them past the best before date.

I think that chore will take me all day so I'd better get on. See you later.

Happy birthday Glitterkitty, hope you have a lovely day x
    TTFTM - Good luck x
Julie - Goodluck with your op x
    Yvieblue - ((hugs)) x

Well that day started really badly, got up late so had a mad rush to get ds ready for school, was rushing doing his lunch and found the bread was mouldy ( I only bought it yesterday!) so had to dash to the shop quick, only just made it to school in time for the bell.
Then an appointment at the docs, I had to wait for 50mins before I managed to get in to see her, then off I went to pick some hay up from a different farm that we normally get it from, got lost, came back home for sat nav, half way there it decided to conk out on me so got lost again, thankfully I came across a woman who gave directions, picked the hay up and then realised we are cutting it fine with petrol to pick ds up so sent dh to go fill it up, well just had a phone call and it has ran out lol so no doubt he'll be huffing and puffing probably calling me all the names under the sun (my ears are burning) whilst walking to the petrol station ..... Its just one of those days... roll on bedtime! lol x

I have managed to pop the wm on and just hoovered, now to have a nice sit down and a cuppa before the school run, chinese pork and noodles for tea tonight so nice and easy.

Hope you've all had a good day so far..((hugs)) to those that need them.

Well the cupboards are empty so I'm taking a break before getting on with listing, cleaning the cupboards and returning the things.

I've got lots of pasta, noodles and rice of varying shapes and varieties and I've also got a sack of potatoes in the garage so that sorts out the carbs except for bread and I've got enough flour for eight loaves so that should see me through January.

I've thrown out some out of date stuff that was lurking in the back but thankfully not too much and I've got a few things that need using in the next week or two but I have ideas as to the meals I can make without having to spend much.

I'm hoping that when I go through the freezer I will be able to plan meals for most of the month with just fresh veg, fruit and milk to buy. I am thinking about buying some frozen veg as well, I only tend to use frozen peas at the moment, I think I was put off frozen veg by those mixtures of cubes of veg you get in canteens, yuk. Anyway I thought about getting cauli, broccoli and green beans to see how we get on - have any of you any other recommendations?

    Hoppy Birdday Glitterkitty:beer:

Hoping the day goes well for Julie (op) and TTFTM (new job).:o

Hilstep how super to read your lovely upbeat post:T - I agree, let's hope 2014 is a better year. For all of us.:o

It has become clear to me that I am going to be using more energy than I can afford if I continue in my vain attempts to get any proper help from the medical bods, so I've decided I shall just go for the required 6-monthly medication reviews, and just manage the situation as best I can on my own. I can't handle any more stress, and trying to get proper tests/treatment is just giving me more and more stress. Can't be 'aving with that, so s0d 'em, if they don't want to help me, they can go and do one! So there!:D

Meantime, I await a call regarding canine guests - should hear something later this week I hope; the franchisee says he has quite a few people wanting dog holidays, some even going as far ahead as September, he just has to sort through and work out which dogs to send to which hosts, iyswim. :o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
