This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Morning TTFTM, seems as though you and I will be trying to snooze a bit later. Best of luck for the new job. Today is the first day of my training for the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge that I am doing for dementia care. I need to go from couch potato to 25 miles uphill walking in 6 months!! One step at a time.
Trying to eat from the freezer too, so tonight will have a chicken casserole for dinner. Child 2 back to school today, child 1 tomorrow, plenty of ironing to catch up on - I hate ironing Kirstie Allsop!!! Also as it's another week, it's another round of cleaning. Am waiting for OHs tax forms to come through as apparently we have to do one and can only do a paper form. Trying to get the paperwork together, man on phone said it would be easy - humph!
Will snooze later have a good day.Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Morning all!
TTFTM - thank you!
At the apartment in London we have rented for 2 nights. It's in Bloomsbury which I love.
Yesterday afternoon while I was out getting us some food, my BF decorated the bookcase in here with balloons and a birthday banner!
I am so excited for the Harry Potter tour today! I'll report back tomorrow!
Hope you all have a good day!the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -
Morning
Not been around much since Christmas, but today DH is back at work, DS back at school and normality must resume! I've enjoyed having DH home for 3 weeks and I'm going to miss the help, but it'll be nice to get my routines back. DD2 is sleeping through the night consistently now (10pm-6am) but we've been getting 7hrs since she was 4 weeks. I am blessed with good sleepers
Anyway, today back to the grindstone, I have two loaves to slice, two more to make. The house needs a tidy, and I have 5 loads of washing to do
I will be so glad when DD2 clothes can be washed with ours I can tell you!
Hope you all have a great day x
TTFTM - good luck today x
Esmf - since when is anything with the government easy? Good luck training x

Good Morning All
Good luck - Julie & TTFTM
Have a fantastic day Glitterkitty
Monday morning urgh, sounds quite windy outside, think it has stopped raining now but seemed to rain all night.
OH is at work and DS is fast asleep still so house peaceful.:)
Just about to put lamb in the slowcooker to have tonight, will do lamb stew tomorrow and curry on wednesday :j
Todays plans are office work and take DS into the city so he can spend his Xmas vouchers, I need to look out for a hat which I can wear when I walk the dog. DS has Nando's vouchers and wants to go there for lunch so thats what we will do.
Have about 4 bits to iron which dried overnight so will get that done and have an empty ironing basket yay - one goal this year is not to let it build up.
Have a good day all.x0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Still dark, not raining at the moment but wet underfoot from the rain during the night. It's windy again but not quite so bad this morning.
DH up and gone to work early. Boys still in their pits fast asleep. Boys not back to college/school until tomorrow.
Lunch yesterday was roast pork loin - it cooked and tasted beautiful. Did all the trimmings with it, roasties, mash, cauli/broc cheese, carrots, green beans, peas, yorkshires and gravy. Back to work to me today. Tonight will be an easy dinner of fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/salad - don't think I'll be wanting to cook anything too difficult as I'm expecting it to be a manic Monday!
Visited the outlaws and my parents yesterday morning. Other than doing that and cooking lunch I didn't really do much else. Was a lazy day.
Keep safe and well x

Good Morning everyone ,black as Newgate's Knocker out there at the moment
:)
I have a list of stuff to take to Dds this morning as its the boys last day of the holidays. We are making mask's today as they suddenly 'remembered ' that they needed some for school so I have loaded all my 'crafty' stuff in a bag to take with me.plus some pork and leek bangers from the freezer that they all like.AND a knitting pattern to make their smallest dog (a Jack Russell) a little coat as she hates the cold and shivers dreafully at this time of the year when you take her out for a walk .Poor little scrap looks so doleful and reproachful at you as though you are being mean making her leave her warm basket:).She normally sleeps sniggled into their bigger dog who is a Heinz 57 mixture and very protective of her.
So my day will be taken up with mask-making,sausage cooking and knitting.Weather forecast is appalling anyway so at least we will be in the warm.
No shopping to get so I'll save my pennies:)
Happy Birthday Glitterkitty my DGD went to see the Harry Potter tour and loved every bit of it, hope you have a nice day
Julie67 good luck with the op.
<<Hugs>> to those who need one and do keep wrapped up warm today as I think its going to be a blowy one
Have a good Monday chums what ever you are doing
